  • really..really bad song by SPRINGSTEEN..for a really..really bad city called YOUNGSTOWN..you know what they say in BRIAR HILL..chow baby..that was FRANKIE RACK..that's short for RACKET..that's YOUNGSTOWN..

  • We can never forget with these daily reminders of the past. But I think it's time to focus on the good things that are now happening. Many people who left the area are now returning with education, skills and resources to make our region a better place. New people who come here find Youngstown an interesting and unique place with lots of character which can't be found in other parts of the country. Every urban center has boarded buildings and miserable people. Only one way up from the bottom!

  • I feel you bro! We always talk about how bad the blacks and violence is in the yo! But I can tell you I wouldn't have wanted to grow up anywhere else! Back then we had a ball we even had our own lil amusement park I always think of my hometown and was so so sad that we didn't take charge and rebuild our communities! Too busy walking around blind ! These politicians don't run shit anyway ! It's always been about the dollar! Once the steel mills closed so did the book of Youngstown! 400 blk!

  • yo im chaz and im 4rm youngstown and ta my city lukin like dis actually breaks my heart. i wuz born and raised there and i wish i can go bak and fix it

  • Thank the lying politician that represents you. Just where are all the jobs this free trade was supposed to create? Seems like there are now jobs. Jobs+free trade= no jobs. Guess that's the truth.

  • When did the other mills close? The only date I have seen was black monday in 1977.

  • The Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Campbell Works, closed in 1977. In 1979 The Briar Hill Works of Youngstown Sheet and Tube Closed. The following year the US Steel, Ohio Works, closed. In 1982 Republic Steel began shutting down operations. By 1986 only an LTV Pipe Mill remained open.

  • Why don't we be honest? Youngstown still is and always was a great city....the only thing that changed was the blacks who ruined neighborhoods with crime and drugs. By the way, you can take pictures of run down buildings in ANY town and make it out to be a sob story. I'm sure our grandfathers who worked the steel mills and brought up their families here before the riph raph moved in could tell the real story about Youngstown.

  • sad to see this fall of great city, is there any hope for YT to make a come back ?

  • Chilling. Terrific video.

  • Our city has slowly died.. and still is dieing.

  • Coming to a town near YOU .

    Thanks for the vid
