An Idea for a last map could possibly be called "Bowser's Evil Laboratory". Like its prequel, stars must be taken from others to get stars. You have the opportunity to go to a shop and buy something that steals one star from others for 10 coins, or two for 20. Each player starts out with 5 stars in a battle royale or 10 stars in a team or duel battle. Each player/team starts out with 20 coins. Now, here are some of the board features:
(I have to do this as a reply because I am running out of room) Bowser's time machine: Stepping on a certain ? space can let you into the time machine. This will direct you to a place where you can get star-stealing candy (for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! -Bedtime stories) and there will be one star at the end of the trail and there will be bags of 10 coins on every space. The trail will last for five turns (or however many turns there are left.)
@cyndie26 (Ran out of room again) Bowser can occasionally use the time machine to reverse the direction of time and cause everyone to travel in the reverse direction. Blue spaces will turn to red spaces and vice-versa. DK spaces will turn to Bowser spaces and vice-versa. Items that slow the dice block down and have it numbered 1-5 will have it speed up and be numbered 1-15. Another feature could be the wormhole (which I see in a lot of astrophysics shows).
@cyndie26 (Ran out of room again) The wormhole will take you to the other side of the board. You can collect coins along the way. If you are lucky, you can even get up to 2 stars. Step on a certain ? space to activate it. If you are even more luckier, it can take you to the trail where the time machine leads to. However, this trail will be 20 spaces long. Another feature can be Bowser's computer. Remember the order of the buttons and press them in the right order. You earn coins if it's right
Another feature can be Bowser's black hole. Stepping on a ? space causes a black hole to happen which takes away everything you earned (coins, items, stars) and sends you back to start. You then play a minigame to try to earn your stuff back. Based on how you do, a certain portion of your stuff comes back to you. The other portion is at stake in the next minigame which will definitely be a battle minigame.
You must either get one star or 100 coins and challenge Bowser to a one-on-one showdown. Bowser will ask you if you want to challenge him if one of these goals are completed. Both of you get a laser gun with a reflex sight with green crosshairs . Each player has 9 lives. It will look like the COD game series (You Killed, Killed By). If you win the showdown, you win the game.
@pikapals41 Nah, it'll be out by the end of this year. Nintendo is only focused on one game for the wii, and that game is skyward sword. They're kinda throwing all the other releases under a bus :P
i'm so excited! while i was looking around in mario wikia i saw "mario party 9", i couldn't believe to my eyes! and i'm happy for koopa and bowser jr being playable in this game, a board similar to the first level of mario bros wii is playable and there are the 1 vs 3 spaces and a 2 vs 1 kind of minigame (vs a coloured bowser jr), that's what i read on the wiki for now

mario party 8 was very quite good.lot's of people say it's awful and that the players cheat.that's really not the case that's just the ai.the games all about gaining the high ground and staying a head of everyone else thus gaining the advantage and staying in first place.and if you still think they cheat than that's just them using the candy every chance they get.but yeah whoever gains the advantage should try their best to keep it.because you never know what they might do.read your opponent.^.^
@klonoa13MP Quite Good, I'd say somewhat decent. Some had valid reasons for it. I pretty much got bored with Mario Party 8 but for MP 5 and 6, never did got bored of it, as for 4 but outdated, got bored of that one.
It was perhaps the Minigames. I didn't seem them overwhelming like the Previous ones. Sure, they're new but not exciting.
But since it's been 4 Years since a Mario Party. We can only help if 9 will achieve. I didn't even like "DS" Party, once again, more reasons. Liked Advance more.

The reason why this game is not online is because a single game of Mario party would take too long for most players to stay there in one go, so that's probably why Nintendo figured players would drop like flies from games, ruining the point of wifi, and if they increased the turn time some player might end up making everyone wait so the others would quit, so he would gain a victory. I've played every mario party except the first one. IMO MP 6 & 7 are my personal favorites. MP8 was okay but sucks when compared to those two.
If there is a Mario Party 9 Bowser should get his space back. DK is better off where he has been since 5. IMO the game would be better if each map has 3 stores instead of 2, a huge variety of item candy.

This mario party 8 thing is kinda like crash bandicoot, isn't it? People hate the new one and prefer the originals. I like all the mario party games I own(4, 6 and 8).

@CalikMira If you get a chance to, you should try to play the first three too. They may be old, but they're really amazing. The whole series is fun. Haven't tried 8 though I really want to. Is it fun?

@huslerk Mario Party 8 is pretty good, actually. I'll buy Mario Party 2 on Virtual Console, I've heard it's the best one. My favourite so far that I've played is Mario Party 4. GameCube ftw!

I've played every mario party except the first one. IMO MP 6 & 7 are my personal favorites. MP8 was okay but sucks when compared to those two.
If there is a Mario Party 9 Bowser should get his space back. DK is better off where he has been since 5. IMO the game would be better if each map has 3 stores instead of 2, a huge variety of item candy.

For Mario Party 9 i was hoping to see Rosalina as a playable character. Rosalina's comet suddenly stops then bowsers koopas invade. But Rosalina escapes and bowser takes her comet and bowsers comet is the secret board. and thats how rosalina came to MP9

Story... Mario is fighting bowser when he sends a medssge to the mario from mp1 and tells something bad is gonna happen. Mp 1 - mp 4 you have to re-enact to finally defeat bowser

@pengy40772 Uh...that would be a little wrong. Mario is the same Mario in all Mario Party games. The only times where Mario isn't exactly Mario is in the Mario DIC cartoons and Hotel Mario. Now, if the story was something like this, it would be interesting.

@MrCrazyToad Mario is taking a walk when he sees Bowser flying off in his Clown Car with the orb of sunlight. Then everything turns dark and lightning storms start. Mario gets his friends(including Hammer Bro. and Blooper) and they go to different worlds that are somehow unaffected by the loss of the sunlight orb to get pieces of the orb Bowser smashed.

the funny thing is that in mario party 8 they added the most random people like sqid and hammer bro in my opinion so if they make mario party 9 they'll probably put people like bulletbill andgoomba or something, anyways ya hope it comes out soon!

I played Mario Party 8 on my cousin's Wii. IT WAS BORING. I shut the Wii off, turned the Gamecube on, and popped Mario Party 6 in. :D

They're not making Mario Party 9! After the development of Mario Party 8, several of Hudson Soft's key designers left to work for Nintendo subsidiary Nd Cube, developers of Wii Party.

Mario party "9" should be a game where instead of stars you collect shine sprites, And the boards are like the levels in super mario sunshine! I mean just think of all the different posibilities! Pinna park would make an epic board, So would pianta village! I mean why not base a game off of sunshine, One of the best mario games out there! It easly adds up to enough boards to make a whole game. That would be quiet a phenominon!, But it would be very EPIC!

@Brendan2080 Every time Mario Party starts on a new Console, it's not that well. N64 Started it all and well, 2nd and 3rd beated it since they knew the mistakes.
But you'd rather play Mario Party 4 since 5th, 6th, and 7th beated that Title too? 4th wasn't a good title, even though there was Donkey Kong.
Now 8th started on Wii and we know it was a Fine title. The latest Mario Party was DS.

This video is so true. Besides the ''success'' of mario party 8. That game was awful! 7 was decent 6 was bleh 5 was ok and 4 was good. The original 3 were the best.

my idea for sages is that they still have the donky knog stages bowser stages and stuff like that but they also have a tsage for every playable character
ex: mario's castle, peach's castle, luigi's mantion, dry bone's sceletal swamp etc.
their will also be newcomers such as diddy kong, bowser jr. kamek and link as a second party character
