Your set up is definitely quieter than mine (Nashbar). but i love the parabolics. you can still wipe out, but not as likely as a novice would be on this set up.
Hey man im yryin to make my own set of rollers and pretty much everything looks pretty straightforward to make...(ive looked at guides on diferent site) but my q is what is the size (in diameter) of your "drums" or whatever the 3 bars the bike is on is called and where in the world can you find them??
The base is is a standard bike trainer. You can probably find a second hand one for cheap, I wouldn't bother making that part. So don't worry too much about the diameter of the drums, use what you find, altough small drums are used on the best freemotion
I made my own resistance roller once out of a $25 rollers with a dent in the drum, and a fan/flywheel trainer i got for mowing a yard. I just used a big o-ring to run the back roller to the trainer and mounted them together with some home depot wood and bolts.
actually no, accidentally came of the rollers from the front one day as I was watching tv and I thought I would have gone flying into the tv set but that wasn't the case, only move forward by a wheel and fel to the side
Ce n'est pas mon idée, franchement je n'y aurais pas pensé. J'ai vu des videos d'autres realisations similaires. Le mieux c'est de faire soi même avec les matériaux à disposition pour minimiser le cout de construction.
That is cool, I picked up an Advent roller set up with a resistance thing on it, I would like to modify it like yours. They way mine is now, when you stand up it gets a bit sketchy.
I want to adapt a resistance thing on mine too cause you can make it kind of harder by switching to harder gears on your bike but it's still no hard enough and gets loud.
Y'a aussi des risques de chute quand tu descends les escaliers :-) Le plus chaud c'est pour monter et descendre comme ça réhausse le vélo sinon avec les roulettes à l'avant ça te remet en position si tu sors du rouleau

those look sweet, and quiet too! well done, sir!

how much did that whole set up cost you in the end?

thing is a lot of this is recycled, got the rollers, cheap bearings, and wheels free but I'll try to throw an estimate if you want to build one.
- old set of rollers $75
- quality replacement bearings for the rollers $25
- wood for the frame $15
- cheap bearings for small wheels and alignment (x20) $20
- various bolts $10
Et voila $145
But I am finishing an excellent upgrade, coming soon...

I would love to make some rollers of my own. How did you do it? Or if you know of any good online tutorials, could you send me the links?

just as a curiosity, what happens if the back rollers get stuck all of the sudden?!

not much I guess, would probably burn a bit of rubber. In fact there is little energy in movement, wheels don't weigh much.

oh ok..
u won't go flying forward?
