I concider Edge as one of the better guitarplayers during the eighties. And even then it hadn't to do anything with techniques. I believe it was the unique style of Edge's play and his right choise on the right moment to use the right chords to produce the right atmosphere in the search for balance in music with emotion. At least, its what i like to think
did you listen to the whos" amazing journey" ? youtube it, u2 moving out is a copy cat of same tune bands do this all the time part of the creation of getting the perfect tune ,pete townsend is without question a master, the edge been his pupil example the edge uses sound effects foot pedals to change sound of strings delay effects extra ,pete townsand however uses his god given tallent and no sound effect foot pedals, even today the edge could not cover match a guitar solo of pete townsend
@HolaDeco look check the song and compare like with like the amazing journey ,its not uncommon for bands to experiment with other tunes and you find they may not have released moving out due to the fact they were to closely matched,my comment is not a insult towards the edge or any U2 fan i after all are one my self in a big way ,i have seeing them over 19 times since 1983 and i have met them more than once ,pete townsend is a legend guitar player way more skilled than the edge no sound effects
sounds like a copy cat of the who" amazing journey" from tommy ,check it on youtube see if you agree ,the edge wishs he could play like pete townsend ,and hey no harm after all whos the master and this is nice tune ,had to repost message to fully confirm song to be almost the same tune
@ultanbeare If Edge wanted to play like pete townsend, he would play like pete townsend, but instead he wanted to be original and go his own way. Keep in mind that this is just a jam session.
i love it!!!
