chos version of college bullying was looking at other rich students and being simply jealous of them plain and simple he thought anyone of stature was the enemy even if they never said a word to him a sad state of mind
watching i think the early diagnosis of autism or a form of it is right one he is slow to speak doesnt have genuine rage and has to read his sayings..he lived in a 5 person dorm where were these people when he was filming and taking photos...cho is no martyr and only will be remembered for being a coward dont like bullying stand up speak vote make a change no useless shooting massacre then kill yourself coward i feel bad and sad for him vtu and the victims
this video makes me irate cho maybe bullied maybe picked on never sought help for his ways never tried to make his life better and instead created a fantasy of make believe condeming religion then saying hes moses and jesus u would think he resorted to violence after many years of combating abuse and speaking up failed but he never did any of that .he simply held all in and killed a bunch of people in a hall he never had a class in..sad that a man can get the guns and ammo legally like he did...
i think if he weren't so quiet, he wouldn't be bullied. i mean, yes he did get bullied, but can he really blame them? think about it! the only reason he was bullied was because he can't open his stupid mouth! if only he'd open up more, then he wouldn't be bullied! i'm saying this because i'm tired of hearing "jesus christ, you inspired me to gather all the weak and defenseless, blah blah blah" shit! if he really did want people to respect him more, he should do shit about it!
@radicallyrandomstuff He had severe anxiety disorders it can be very hard to open up at all read up on it, It's not a excuse for what he did but don't be so quick to say he should of did this or that.. it's not always that simple
I know it's horrible what he did, but I feel so bad for him :(. he was obviously a very disturbed man with a lost soul. no love, no compassion. it makes me so sad that he found no hope for himself that he had to murder other people and himself as well. my heart aches for the lonely and depressed because there IS hope for them.
What a COWARD! Claiming to be like Christ!? Bullies have always been around and bullying will never stop. You're asking humans to cease existing. Man up and learn to rise above your oppressors! And remember that the world doesn't revolve around YOU! If every person who was bullied like this guy did the same thing, we would all die off. No one is without self awareness. 32 lives worth of potential wasted by 1 selfish individual!!!
@PowerCrumb45 Maybe, but Cho also paid the price, his life. If there is one positive result that may come out of this is that authority may finally start to pay attention to the severe problem of school bullying.
@justin70108 He did it because he was fckin crazy. How can you justify murdering innocent people? I don't care if he was bullied. A weird little shit who doesn't talk is bound to get harassed at some point. Not like he was the type to attempt to be friendly with anyone
@rtorto1 I hardly believe anyone is completely innocent. Even if you just happen to be a bystander witnessing an event of school bullying, if you don't do anything about it, that makes you just as guilty. Speaking of murdering innocents, it happens a lot more often than you may think. You may want to look up the number of civilians the US military has killed in Middle East over the past 10 years.
@rtorto1 he quit talking because he got bullied so bad, a disorder called selective mutism, selective mutism is cause by severe anxiety, caused by rejection, i wouldn't kill a shit load of people, i would probably stand up in the middle of class and blast my brains so everyone could see the mess they created
I feel sorry he got bullied, but obviously he was mentally disturbed. Crazy people like him have lost touch with the real world. This plus guns equals the VT tragedy.
Dont feel sorry for this scum bag, this attention wanting fool, he killed innocent lifes and you guys say he isnt so bad? what is wrong with this country?
This guy wasn't even bullied daily, most of this video is just an incoherent rant. He did this because he had mental issues. This guy says that defended the weak, yet he harassed women over the internet, and got reported for it. This guy wasn't bullied a damn day in his life. He is just a crazy person that attacked the innocent because he is challenged. Don't feel any sympathy for this loser, feel sympathy for the victims.
@yandirtty21 He must not be Human then, if whatever you said was true, then he does not have the same emotion as regular Human beings, its like you comparing this guy to a bum, you do not know what a bum been through in his life, but people judge him and assume his just a lazy fuk that wont do shit for his life. And now you are judging this guy because you are assuming that you know him just looking at this video and read what you researched about on wiki or others people rants and opinions.
@yandirtty21 Dude the roommate barely knew this guy, Cho was in that school for how long? How da fuk are your going to get your facts from a roommate who barely knew this dude. That is some idiotic shit, cause your trying to base facts from an opinion.
He really had no reason to kill the innocent people. Jesus... I understand he was frustrated with the world. But for fucks sake, he should've just only shot himself
If he wanted to be accepted, he should have reached out to a counselor or other professional help. His family should've also taken better care of him with his condition at a younger age. I don't care if he is autistic, I was autistic when i was younger but eventually improved because i realized I had to communicate with others so they enjoy my presence, not massacre them with gun violence
its a shame coz he was obviously very smart and intelligent but probably was not given enough attention growing up and bullied and mistreated by those around him....and he has a point those who have everything laugh at those with nothing....and i understand him wanting to take revenge on those, as its not entirely clear or certain that what goes around comes back to those who hurt you....doesnt mean i agree to taking the lives of those... but its a shame all together
@MysterypersonX2B2 Do you think the same should happen to you? Your hate will make you an evil person who will deserve evil things done to them. If I were to say you should be killed, how would you respond? Nobody has the right to end another persons life... I hope you realize this eventually. Also, CALM THE FUCK DOWN! Peace.
Empathy is what is needed in this world. I feel as much sadness reading into Cho's life as I do for the people he murdered. Both instances are cruel and despicable occurrences. No one deserves the life he endured, no innocent deserves to be murdered. The TRUE filth of the world are the people who never gave Cho a chance to be happy, who bullied him and dismissed him for his disabilities and those like them - the people who caused the VTech Massacre. Cho simply replicated their hate.
When it comes down to it, Cho had major mental issues. I feel bad saying it but he should have been put in a high security mental institution. Something more than counseling needs to be done when a person doesn't speak to anyone and is writing plays about a student lashing out at a professor because of bad marks or a father raping a son and the son killing the father.
@MysterypersonX2B2 Its been 6 days, you calmed down yet? Mate if you're being bullied don't look to this guy for inspiration... Real men fight with fists, they don't hide behind guns and weapons. Pussies who think killing is an answer deserve to be bullied.
Or a madman... But i agree. Real men fight with their fist. But look at the guy in the video... He was a very disturbed young man. And it saddens me that he did what he did. Being bullied myself and having these urges myself gives me some understanding for what he did i guess. I had the urges myself, i even had psychiatrical help. But i will never give in to that urge for it is pointless to kill innocent people.
However i still have my sanity, this guy clearly didn't.
@Titant2 I'm sorry to hear you were bullied mate and have massive respect that you sought out help when you needed it! Like you said, this guy was extremely disturbed and if anyone were to see him as a martyr then it would be terrible; Cho will always be remembered as a terrible human - no amount of pity will change that.
this guy has some insanity issues, killing random ppl in the school, posting hatred speeches, and attempted to suicide, this guy has some mental problems.
aftermath, some american are being hatreds to the Korean people in the american society, which that is not right. sometimes americans need to think ppl they say their shit out loud, it is almost similar to the 9/11 attack, many american being hatred ti the muslim. n not all ppl are that way, there are always good and bad people.
I really think this guy killed all those people coz he was sexually frustrated, do you think he would have been this angry at life if he was getting some pussy? He got rejected by a few women that he made advances towards, to think if one of them had taken a liking to him all those people would probably still be here.
I still think it´s funny how everyone is scared of terrorists, but no one seems to care about guys like him. And why? Because bitching against it would mean bitching against the first and second amendments and everyone knows they are so precious -.-
The gun-law is fucking outdated. At that time they had guns with black powder. They didn´t know about guns with 31 rounds etc...
@FuckTheWorld623 That is a little harsh. George Bush is a bad politician and wasn't the smartest person but he didn't have malicious intent to murder innocent people.
@Ascaithe While many of the laws are stupid he still would have been able to get a gun, he had no criminal record, no record of mental problems, and nothing of the such. And changing gun laws would not prevent another tragedy like this, as sad as it is. If someone wants to go and start a massacre and kill many innocent people, laws aren't going to stop them. At the most, slightly hinder them.
his speech is pretty much about killing a lot of bullies so the weak and defenseless can have less to worry about. the part i don't get is that most of the victims looked like nerdy people that probably were bullied through out grade school.
What I want to know is what was his family like. How could they sit by all these years while their son was a loner and quiet and unhappy? When he was bullied, could he talk to them about it? Did they try to help him? What did they do? Was he abused? Was he prevented from realizing his potential? Did he have a Tiger mom? What kind of family is this?
And to think, Cho had no weapons training but could shoot like an expert marksman. Must be the video games (not blaming, just saying).
He just needed people, that is the only cure for loneliness and despair. If he had a good supply of friends, had a girlfriend, was getting laid, and was accepted and trusted by his community and school none of this shit would happen. VT brought this upon themselves when they decided to isolate Cho and keep him alone, no wonder he probably wanted to kill everyone.
@ObliviousBurrito he did have friends he had a room mate that would invite him to frat parties and emily jane hilscher (one of the victims) was his ex girlfriend.
@MrRandomlyrandom123 this is so stupid! His MALE roomate contacted the girls and told them to stay away from him because he was a weirdo and wrote graffiti all over the second girls door.
Doesn't anyone see the problem ? Cho took his anger out on those who didn't deserve it , that is for sure , they were victims of a horrible crime . BUT , it takes A LOT OF ABUSE VERBALLY AND PHYSICALLY to put someone in that state of mind . Cho was a victim , and he was sick of being pathetic and letting the world walk all over him . It was wrong what he did , but he is the original victim . He made other victims , so in his mind they could feel how he has felt . He made a horrible choice.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He didn't get bullied. Do some research you f**king idiots. He was a nutcase pure and simple and 32 innocent people paid for it. Unless you think that 32 'bullies' just happened to be in the Norris building that day and ranged from 18 to over 40 years old. All just bulling poor little Cho. If there is a hell he is burning.
The guy wasnt even bullied (maybe he was earlier but not in college) what drove him nuts was the fact that he was utterly ignored. When he sought attention he did it big style!
I feel sad for this dude. I don't know why but I just do. I came here expecting to make fun of a lunatic of some sort but found a lonely social misfit instead. I think he just needed love. My condolences to him and his victims...and fuck his bullies. Without them none of this would've happened. Oppression of any kind will breed hatred.
I'm Asian I don't go HATING people just because I'm beign bullied beside not all Asians are like that a few are, but all of them are all just nice and friendly. One kid I know back in middle school being teased and bullied I tried being friend with him but all he can think of is just how he's going to get big to beat up his bullies and then when he started high school he started skipping class hanging out with the wrong crowd eventually he got kicked out of school for his behavior.
Cho was a victim too whether you like it or not. How does anyone have the right to bully someone and bring them down to a level where they feel worthless?
Just like cho didnt have right to kill anyone. Both actions are wrong!!!
But he did what he had to do. He must of been really desperate for love, friends, and social acceptance
it is a tragedy that he was bullied but this was all for attention; posting the videos, writing all that suicidal crap. he knew they would look in his life and he would get the attention he wanted even at the cost of inncent lives. he could have been a good kid if someone helped him. hes not right in the head and the conditions were right for all that emotion to just burst. condolences to all hurt mortally and emotionally
If you post hate speech, use racist terms OR use homophobic terms, I can promise you'll be blocked and all the comments you've written will be deleted permanently from this video. It may take me a month, sometimes two, but I do go through them all. Why waste your time writing a load of stuff that will definitely be deleted?
Read it again: NO hate speech, racist or homophobic terms will remain. No 'Cho is a hero' posts will remain.
Please give this post a thumbs-up so that other viewers see it.
I think you should allow people to speak their mind, if they do so in an orderly manner. - If they think Cho's a hero, then let them. That will probably only earn them the disgust of the general public at any rate.
Ok seriously it was wrong for what he did. But he killed because all he ever did was get bullied and most likley very badly. You should never pick on someone ever. He snapped because of it and after being picked on a person can only take it for so long before they snap like this. he was a vitctim as well. I feel sorry for him and it was wrong. He killed 32 ppl....most likley people he picked on him.
I do think though that the society is pushing people on to become ever more ambitious and unnecessarily active and aspiring. In that kind of environment there are bound to be people who feel "pushed" to talk or be successful.
@RiniMom No he's not...He's a sick, masochistic murderer who never asked for help with his life. He killed 32 people. The fact that thousands still feel sorry for him means that we only have thousands more people who need help with their lives. That bastard needs to rot in pieces. His words are there to MAKE you feel sorry for him...don't. He's scum that deserves to burn in hell for all eternity. God will give him what he deserves; and there are 32 more angels in heaven.
@kaliguy05 If he hadnt been picked on he wouldnt have done it. It shouldnt have happened. everyone should have at least a couple of friends and be treated with respect.
@whyusucksobad i definately agree. Although you are ultimately responsible for all your actions. There are plenty of people that get picked on, and i'm sure many that had/have it worse than murderer cho, and still manage to not hurt people. character is determined by the choices you make. We all have it bad in one way or another, but the beauty of life is seeing the good.
@whyusucksobad I think it was his mental instability which caused this more-so than the bullying. If he hadn't been bullied, VT might not have happened. But years down the road, he still would've snapped. Maybe he would've shot up his workplace. He was going to crack sooner or later. It was inevitable.
@whyusucksobad Um no, I was picked on in High School as well, and I never murdered 32 people. Don't blame bullying ok? Lot's of kids get bullied, not all of them are murderers.
@LovleyXBones A kid who was bullied who sticks up for the bullies lol. The whole point if anyone actually listened to the guy was the bullying. Bullies like to pick on those that are weaker they picked on one with a mental illness. Again society likes to address the effect of problems but never the cause why is that?
I think bulling is intrinsic to society which is why no one will confront it... the rich bully the poor; slim bully fat, pretty - ugly. why arent bullies also condemned?
I can relate, believe it or not, as I had something of a very troubling, melancholy experience on-campus back in 2001 while in college at GMU. This is typical of most college dorm environments. Without a built-in support network from highschool, and only annoying roommates and the internet for company, one can experience intense isolation & misery. The unreasonable demands made by screwy professors, and the pressure and tunnel-vision to please one's parents can be only add to the frustration.
I actually visited the same hall on the VT campus where Cho went through, and realized how an obviously intelligent, articulate young man can slowly be cut off from others in the isolated enviornment of campus, despite all the blather about community and celebrating diversity (So-called "Poet" Nikki Giovanni should take note).
What does being depressed have to to with having compassion, and knowing right from wrong? Besides, how can you make any assumptions about me just because I don't look up to a guy who took 32 lives for no reason, other than they "hurt his feelings." I'm black. I go to a 99% white school in Colorado. If you think that I don't know anything about suffering and having people hurt me, you are sorely mistaken. However, that doesn't mean that I think that EVERYONE should pay for it.
All these people saying that this guy is a hero are seriously disturbed. Do you guys understand how much pain he caused? He killed innocent people, who had done NOTHING to him, who probably didn't know him. Each person was someone's son or daughter, someone's sister or brother, or even someone's mother. Why did they deserve to die because no one cared enough to make sure that this boy got the help he deserved? If this is the kind of person you look up to, who you admire, I feel SORRY for you.
@whyusucksobad This guy was NOT bullied. There is NO evidence to suggest that he ever was. He was a hateful, self-centred individual who could not blame himself for his own woes. In his sick mind it was everybody elses fault.
32 innocent and defenceless people paid the ultimate price for it.
The people who bullied him were probably from rich families. By "the weak, the defenseless, the innocent children" he is probably referring to all the quiet, bullied kids like himself.
I dont think gun control is the issue. We let too many young kids slip through the cracks because it is convenient for the system. Of those kids a few are going to end up being suicidal/homicidal. If the US ever gets occupied 60 percent of the people will be able to defend themselves that is why I am all for the right to bear arms. It is likely we will be occupied within 50 years with all the war we enter. I own no guns by the way.
Why the FUCK do they censor all those curse words in a video that's the manifest of the biggest school shooter ever. God damn you americans are hypocrite...
cho cho was a coward... and who in the world takes Glamor Shots with there guns I've been a gun owner for many years never once did I feel the need to strike a pose with them.
This guy clearly had some serious mental issues, but I would say Americas fucked up gun laws are in large part to blame for this. Seriously how stupid can you get? In countries where any old person off the street can't just walk into a gun store fill out some paper work and get a gun, this kind of shit doesn't happen. Without access to guns what's the worst this guy could've done? Hit somebody over the head with his lunchbox? When are you guys gonna change your "first amendment rights" crap?
@kevo908 Naturally. But the ability to legally own firearms is about more than just possession of a lethal weapon. It often entails a dangerous sense of entitlement, and lack of awareness, even among sane, law-abiding people. If you live in an area where the need to defend yourself is likely, then maybe it's worth breaking the law and going through black market channels. If people had to become criminals to own guns, then maybe they'd be able to better appreciate the power and risks they bring.
@kevo908 I'll admit, my original post was poorly written. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a "hippie", and I'm not make oversimplifications. Maybe in this guy's case, a tragedy like this was inevitable. I just find it worrying that so many Americans have such a huge sense of entitlement. Carrying a gun a fundamental right? No, access to food, clean water and education are fundamental rights, not the ability for perhaps the most stupid person on the planet to legally own an easy to use, lethal weapon.
@kevo908 And as an aside, any comparisons people have made with knives or baseball bats are just lacking in any kind of thought. A gun can kill at a distance, knives and bats cannot (unless the wielder happens to be a martial-arts expert). A guns power is not dependent on the user. A gun does not generally require a lot of skill to inflict damage. A gun has far greater potential as a terror weapon. Come on people, there's a reason why the invention of the gun revolutionised warfare.
@kevo908 Lol, fair enough. My comments were for the benefit of everybody criticising me for my original comment. And to anybody who's thinking about mentioning it, yes I'm aware that the right to bear arms is contained in the second amendment to the US constitution not the first. I knew this when I wrote my original comment, I just made a simple error as I was writing in haste, and yeah looked pretty ignorant as a result.
@Ascaithe, while I do not support gun rights either, I think you're being rather facetious. I mean, he could have knifed people (and probably would have knifed at least a couple.) Sure, he probably wouldn't have killed nearly as many people before the cops got him, but a guy like this would certainly find some way to kill (he definitely had his heart set on it). Knifing arguably hurts more. Still, I agree with you, guns are a part of the problem.
Money is the root you idiot you don't think even if laws are changed the people who want guns are gonna get guns ITS CALLED A BLACK MARKET the opposite of you scary society
laws never have done anything but cause conflict let people be free im tired of closed minded pessimistic people like you
and by the way your the type of people who get scared when you hear something in the night or in your house and dont know what it is
@Ascaithe Wow what fucking world do you live in asshole? By your logic Switzerland should be swimming in gun violence, but they're not. Gun free zones are shooting galleries because they know they won't be shot back at.
@Ascaithe hahahaha..the 1st amendment is free speech..wow strong words for backing up free speech..ok lets take away our freedom of speech..hahaha...get ur facts right!!
@dathao91 True, lol. Should have proofread my comment before I posted it. I thought I had said second amendment- I didn't realise what I had actually said until I got a host of comments enlightening me.
@Ascaithe Never it appears after the comments I was getting on another video off an ex-US cop. Who was willing to shoot a kid who was threatening with a skateboard. And their excuse is always that they want to be able to defend themselves if someone else has a gun.
@Ascaithe If they ban guns he could still use a knife lol. Its not hard to kill, trust me, if you are commited like a pyscopath you definetley do it. The blade has slaughtered billions of people thoughtout history just like the gun.3 inches is all enough to kill.
@NORMAPLUTTEN he did an awful thing, people are reacting logically, and are finding illogical ways to hate him. And in their credit, he sounds like a complete idiot.
People need to stop bullying, but not only that. People also need to start accepting everyone. People need to befriend those lonely shy individuals instead of shun them, to make them feel like they belong. Social classes are evil, and lead to tragedies such as this. Humanity needs to unite as equals.
@ClubBangerTV actually this guy is dead, so he can't "hear" what you're saying. Anyways, since he's dead, he already knows the truth, jesus never existed...
@atkm2891 oh yeah. cause i definitely expected him to see my comment out of the 1,040 that are posted before me if he was alive. That was cute that you were trying to offend me though, cause I don't even believe a Jesus existed either. Try it on someone who actually cares and sleeps with a bible.
i was bullied and beaten on every single day during my school life, fair enough i had hatred for everyone that did it, but it didnt make me think or want to do this, but you have to understand that no one is the same, everyone have their own way of dealing with things, cho was no different, what cho did though was TOTALLY WRONG, but to make such things as this stop happening, we need to stop the bullying of other beings, we are not better then others, we're all humans.
You cannot respect the life of a man like this. His actions are not justifiable. These types of people need to be weeded out and destroyed before they can hurt the lives of the innocent.
have u ever overheard someone getting made fun of constantly? And instead of backing him up, u join in, even though u dont even know that person. Well its time for a change. Why put down the people who cant defend themselves, or are to scared to, when we can be a friend to them.
this kid was only 8 when he moved here (in 1992) from Seoul, S. Korea. During middle and high school, people taunted him and - were cruel to him, basically. Bad enough, he was a quiet kid since he was in school. It wasn't his fault he did this, but someone should have been gutsy and tough enough to really get through to him from the start. Like ALL people, we aren't born bad, we're made bad. As for the victims, I can only say that their fates didn't have to end up like the way they did.
Very often when things like this happen, we are tempted to shift the whole blame on the individual.
Of course, the individual must bear some responsibility for what he has done. BUT REMEMBER THAT CRIMINALS ARE BUT PRODUCTS OF SOCIETY. Even if he may be "selfish" or "of a special character", those who caused him into translating his selfishness and character into action SHOULD ALSO bear the blame.
We will never know what provoked him to do such a thing but its HORRIBLE.
to take the lives of innocent people like that, and then kill himself. He should havejsut commited suicide. It's sickening to watch this video. People go through thingsall the time, but TO kill someone over it is selfish and disgusting. This maks me sick
I don't find the things he did heroic by NO means. To escape your own problems and issues by attacking other innocent people and then committing suicide is the easy way out. He couldn't man up enough to face his own fears or problems so he just escaped life, what's the point in that? Just so others can feel physical pain. These acts are what starts the domino effect in society and life, continuing to do them instead of ending them is what diminishes our world.
@bi79yt bbq of your own skin right lol /..... While I DO understand why these killers do it.. I still don't think it's right. But because we know that students can turn out like this... we should never bother students in any way... if u make a joke.. and it hurts their feelings.. then stop it. respect their feelings. we wouldn't have school shootings if we acted like this.
Everyone who is "sorry" for this kid has mental problems just as he did. "He was diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorder known as selective mutism, as well as major depressive disorder." He was not picked on any differently than other students in school. He had mental issues. He does not deserve to R.I.P He killed 32 people and wounded 25 others. Do research before you say shit like "His words speak to me".
You idiot , how can you not feel sorry for him? He is a human being. what he did was wrong. How do you know he was not picked on any diffrently, were you in his class. I make no excuses for him but look how we as a counrty have fallen, look at the way we treat each other. Its sick to know how god made people who have black hearts and laugh or make fun of someone when one is down.People like this are going to answer to god, Even us as society that mistreat other people. Sad world
@Mystery24100 Your basic thought is correct, why do people make fun of other people? I don't know the answer to that. But the HUGE concept you are missing is the fact that he didn't do what normal people do. Cry, talk about it, go to counseling. He went and killed 30 fucking people. Do you have friends? Family members? Imagine him killing someone close to you. Is it just "okay" then, did he "just got picked on hes sticking it to the man!!" No hes a fucking lunatic.
Cho is no victim. He is a man who failed to make the best of his circumstances and forced his anger out on others instead. Why pity a rabid dog?

Pathetic really, he didn't even know who the enemy was -- his own mind, which he alone is responsible -- you always have a choice.

@justin70108 He did it because he was fckin crazy. How can you justify murdering innocent people? I don't care if he was bullied. A weird little shit who doesn't talk is bound to get harassed at some point. Not like he was the type to attempt to be friendly with anyone
rtorto1 1 month ago

However i still have my sanity, this guy clearly didn't.

What I want to know is what was his family like. How could they sit by all these years while their son was a loner and quiet and unhappy? When he was bullied, could he talk to them about it? And to think, Cho had no weapons training but could shoot like an expert marksman. Must be the video games (not blaming, just saying).

It was wrong what he did , but he is the original victim . He made other victims , so in his mind they could feel how he has felt . He made a horrible choice.

@whyusucksobad i definately agree. Although you are ultimately responsible for all your actions. There are plenty of people that get picked on, and i'm sure many that had/have it worse than murderer cho, and still manage to not hurt people. character is determined by the choices you make. We all have it bad in one way or another, but the beauty of life is seeing the good.
kaliguy05 1 year ago
@whyusucksobad I think it was his mental instability which caused this more-so than the bullying. If he hadn't been bullied, VT might not have happened. But years down the road, he still would've snapped. Maybe he would've shot up his workplace. He was going to crack sooner or later. It was inevitable.
MisterBeaucoup 1 year ago
@whyusucksobad Um no, I was picked on in High School as well, and I never murdered 32 people. Don't blame bullying ok? Lot's of kids get bullied, not all of them are murderers.
LovleyXBones 10 months ago

Asakura53 1 year ago
I actually visited the same hall on the VT campus where Cho went through, and realized how an obviously intelligent, articulate young man can slowly be cut off from others in the isolated enviornment of campus, despite all the blather about community and celebrating diversity (So-called "Poet" Nikki Giovanni should take note).
Asakura53 1 year ago
What does being depressed have to to with having compassion, and knowing right from wrong? Besides, how can you make any assumptions about me just because I don't look up to a guy who took 32 lives for no reason, other than they "hurt his feelings." I'm black. I go to a 99% white school in Colorado. If you think that I don't know anything about suffering and having people hurt me, you are sorely mistaken. However, that doesn't mean that I think that EVERYONE should pay for it.

kevo908 11 months ago
@kevo908 Naturally. But the ability to legally own firearms is about more than just possession of a lethal weapon. It often entails a dangerous sense of entitlement, and lack of awareness, even among sane, law-abiding people. If you live in an area where the need to defend yourself is likely, then maybe it's worth breaking the law and going through black market channels. If people had to become criminals to own guns, then maybe they'd be able to better appreciate the power and risks they bring.
Ascaithe 11 months ago
@kevo908 I'll admit, my original post was poorly written. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a "hippie", and I'm not make oversimplifications. Maybe in this guy's case, a tragedy like this was inevitable. I just find it worrying that so many Americans have such a huge sense of entitlement. Carrying a gun a fundamental right? No, access to food, clean water and education are fundamental rights, not the ability for perhaps the most stupid person on the planet to legally own an easy to use, lethal weapon.
Ascaithe 11 months ago
@kevo908 And as an aside, any comparisons people have made with knives or baseball bats are just lacking in any kind of thought. A gun can kill at a distance, knives and bats cannot (unless the wielder happens to be a martial-arts expert). A guns power is not dependent on the user. A gun does not generally require a lot of skill to inflict damage. A gun has far greater potential as a terror weapon. Come on people, there's a reason why the invention of the gun revolutionised warfare.
Ascaithe 11 months ago
@Ascaithe Ok?
kevo908 11 months ago
@kevo908 Lol, fair enough. My comments were for the benefit of everybody criticising me for my original comment. And to anybody who's thinking about mentioning it, yes I'm aware that the right to bear arms is contained in the second amendment to the US constitution not the first. I knew this when I wrote my original comment, I just made a simple error as I was writing in haste, and yeah looked pretty ignorant as a result.
Ascaithe 11 months ago
@Ascaithe, while I do not support gun rights either, I think you're being rather facetious. I mean, he could have knifed people (and probably would have knifed at least a couple.) Sure, he probably wouldn't have killed nearly as many people before the cops got him, but a guy like this would certainly find some way to kill (he definitely had his heart set on it). Knifing arguably hurts more. Still, I agree with you, guns are a part of the problem.

just try and think about what he must have went through to come to that conclusion that he had to kill people and then himself.

Damn It .... reading at some comments, I cant believe some are actually "thanking" him, "respecting" him for what he has done. What a world ....

like Jesus Christ? Jesus didn't kill anyone and he got nailed to a cross... lol. You are NOT Jesus.
ClubBangerTV 1 year ago
@ClubBangerTV actually this guy is dead, so he can't "hear" what you're saying. Anyways, since he's dead, he already knows the truth, jesus never existed...
atkm2891 1 year ago
@atkm2891 oh yeah. cause i definitely expected him to see my comment out of the 1,040 that are posted before me if he was alive. That was cute that you were trying to offend me though, cause I don't even believe a Jesus existed either. Try it on someone who actually cares and sleeps with a bible.

The self hatred asians go through is really sad. Next one i see giving me the eye im gonna have to break his jaw im sorry im not taking any chances

i was bullied and beaten on every single day during my school life, fair enough i had hatred for everyone that did it, but it didnt make me think or want to do this, but you have to understand that no one is the same, everyone have their own way of dealing with things, cho was no different, what cho did though was TOTALLY WRONG, but to make such things as this stop happening, we need to stop the bullying of other beings, we are not better then others, we're all humans.

You can call his actions repulsive (which they obviously were), but he obviously suffered for years prior.
Kieronoldham 1 year ago
We need to stop bullying. People - do whatever you can
timmynw10 1 year ago
You cannot respect the life of a man like this. His actions are not justifiable. These types of people need to be weeded out and destroyed before they can hurt the lives of the innocent.

@crzydnz what about the scum culture that tormented him

have u ever overheard someone getting made fun of constantly? And instead of backing him up, u join in, even though u dont even know that person. Well its time for a change. Why put down the people who cant defend themselves, or are to scared to, when we can be a friend to them.

he was mentally ill...you cant understand what he felt or why he did that..
so ask yourself 1 question, did he change the world with this totally pointless act?
nope, he didnt..just in a negative way..

this kid was only 8 when he moved here (in 1992) from Seoul, S.

Even if he may be "selfish" or "of a special character", those who caused him into translating his selfishness and character into action SHOULD ALSO bear the blame.

was he reported having any mental illness?
longyinl 1 year ago
@longyinl A lot of times a mental illness diagnosis is complete bullshit.
fgarcia20 1 year ago
Selfish.
BiqCityDreamsxz 1 year ago
I don't find the things he did heroic by NO means. To escape your own problems and issues by attacking other innocent people and then committing suicide is the easy way out. He couldn't man up enough to face his own fears or problems so he just escaped life, what's the point in that? Just so others can feel physical pain. These acts are what starts the domino effect in society and life, continuing to do them instead of ending them is what diminishes our world.
lolliegurl19 1 year ago
@bi79yt bbq of your own skin right lol /..... While I DO understand why these killers do it.. I still don't think it's right. But because we know that students can turn out like this... we should never bother students in any way... if u make a joke.. and it hurts their feelings.. then stop it. respect their feelings. we wouldn't have school shootings if we acted like this.
lolhahah21 1 year ago 2
Everyone who is "sorry" for this kid has mental problems just as he did. "He was diagnosed with a severe anxiety disorder known as selective mutism, as well as major depressive disorder." He was not picked on any differently than other students in school. He had mental issues. He does not deserve to R.I.P He killed 32 people and wounded 25 others. Do research before you say shit like "His words speak to me".
snwonaes 1 year ago
@snwonaes
Sad world
Mystery24100 1 year ago
@Mystery24100 Your basic thought is correct, why do people make fun of other people? I don't know the answer to that. But the HUGE concept you are missing is the fact that he didn't do what normal people do. Cry, talk about it, go to counseling. He went and killed 30 fucking people. Do you have friends? Family members? Imagine him killing someone close to you. Is it just "okay" then, did he "just got picked on hes sticking it to the man!!" No hes a fucking lunatic.
