a local soldier died back in 2003, in a combat zone, because he was fucking off and fell down a shaft.
the later part of the story only came out a year after his death. yes it was something i could see him doing. i could also see him doing something like this.

the C1 vertebrae has a downward v notch that the skull sits in. A blow directly to the top of the skull will fracture the C1 vertebrae fairly easily.
Human's aren't really designed to take blow directly to the top of their heads.

It doesn't take many news reports or videos of random executions, torture or war crimes before an armed force is hated by the public.
Friends of mine who went to Afghanistan tell of almost poorly trained US soldiers who are arrogant and abusive to locals, are undisciplined... They're bad at everything except combat.

the later part of the story only came out a year after his death. yes it was something i could see him doing. i could also see him doing something like this.
