1989 - 1990... i remember seeing this demo at tmr of cosines house MANY moons ago.. was highly impressed.. go check out some cosine demos ;-) if ya google "cosine c64" you'll find em.
Okay, the version that plays here is the latest from the HVSC collection. However, the OLDER version of the same SID I have at Skytopia is better in quality without the noisy artifacts and volume probs (look for the top 64 C64 music and "Graphixmania 2 part 6").
NOSTALGIA! I still remember "Poke 2180,255" Cheat for commando! I still got me 64with 1570 ram expander, Geos Operating system, Fastload cartridge! Long Live the Commie!
It's amazing how software was created to get the most of the hardware, squeezing it to the limits. If software from today were so cleverly programmed...
Amazing. There are a huge number of sampled sounds in here, and the graphics seem to indicate a more powerful computer, such as an Amiga. Long live the C-64!
I love the SID chip - though I know nothing about the technology behind it I'm told that it was incredibly versatile, and this clip just proves it. Anyone remember Space Taxi? The SFX and speech in that game were flawless, transitioning from one to the other without so much as a seconds load time required.
Such a unique and characteristic is C64 sound. In the first and the last song here we have synthesis along with sampling which is unbelieveable for 64 kbytes of RAM, three sound oscilators and 1 MHz processor! And there is also a picture! Everything programmed in assembler! Programming masterpiece!!!
youtube, doesn't do it justice. get winvice emu and download the demo off c64 dot ch =) .. its an oldie.. but a goodie.. one of my favs.. along with dutch breeze by blackmail and deus ex machina by crest. 128 colours on a 16 colour computer etc ;-)

I just found the soundtrack for this in my HVSC files. It's under Kleinert_Tim. Apparently MDA stood for Modern Arts.

Amazing demo! The last thirty seconds are the sweetest sounds I've ever heard out of a C64!

Respect to those who created this one! (Oh, and I'm NOT from the world famous C64-group I share the name with...)

My alltime favourite demo. The final tune is just awesome, kudos to Tim Kleinart. The demo looks a bit oldschool these days, but it still has style.
