  • amazing what good programmers can do

  • nice boobies >_<

  • Thanks for the upload. Good memories.

    Cheers to all,

    Tim/MDA

  • phenomenal.. and that all without internet

  • In which year was this released?

  • 1989 - 1990... i remember seeing this demo at tmr of cosines house MANY moons ago.. was highly impressed.. go check out some cosine demos ;-) if ya google "cosine c64" you'll find em.

  • AMAZING 1982 64 COMMODORE

  • This really is excellent. I love demos with a sense of humour.

  • The last tune is still amazing after all these years. The composition towards the end is flawless.

  • I get sad when I hear a good sid like the last one, makes me aware of my age! :)

    was fun in the days..

  • Okay, the version that plays here is the latest from the HVSC collection. However, the OLDER version of the same SID I have at Skytopia is better in quality without the noisy artifacts and volume probs (look for the top 64 C64 music and "Graphixmania 2 part 6").

  • whaaaaaaaaa

  • NOSTALGIA! I still remember "Poke 2180,255" Cheat for commando! I still got me 64with 1570 ram expander, Geos Operating system, Fastload cartridge! Long Live the Commie!

  • I just found the soundtrack for this in my HVSC files. It's under Kleinert_Tim. Apparently MDA stood for Modern Arts.

  • It's amazing how software was created to get the most of the hardware, squeezing it to the limits. If software from today were so cleverly programmed...

  • Amazing demo! The last thirty seconds are the sweetest sounds I've ever heard out of a C64!

  • Amazing. There are a huge number of sampled sounds in here, and the graphics seem to indicate a more powerful computer, such as an Amiga. Long live the C-64!

  • I always remember my cracked c64 games had these awesome h@ck'd intros.. would sometimes leave playing for ages JUST for the sound produced...

  • left right left right left right di di disco !! \o/

  • mmm mmm mmmm go to 4:24 man i like the one on the right lol

  • Love to explore YouTube and find THESE amazing pieces of art. These Demos bring back my youth...

Respect to those who created this one! (Oh, and I'm NOT from the world famous C64-group I share the name with...)

  • I love the SID chip - though I know nothing about the technology behind it I'm told that it was incredibly versatile, and this clip just proves it. Anyone remember Space Taxi? The SFX and speech in that game were flawless, transitioning from one to the other without so much as a seconds load time required.

  • man this is a phat beat.

  • Such a unique and characteristic is C64 sound. In the first and the last song here we have synthesis along with sampling which is unbelieveable for 64 kbytes of RAM, three sound oscilators and 1 MHz processor! And there is also a picture! Everything programmed in assembler! Programming masterpiece!!!

  • MAN I STILL LOVE COMMODORE 64!!! yeah old school!

  • Now i can play this from my Ultimate sid collection... over 31000 sids ;) worth downloading for everyone.

  • Yah.. Living on video indeed! Thanks a lot! Theres so much memories in this song! *bow*

  • Its from the composer

    Tim kleinert - Graphixmania 2 (part 2)

    this track included:

    Title: Savage, Tune #3 (0:16)

    Artist: Jeroen Tel

    Title: Living on Video

    Cover: From Living on Video

    Artist: Trans-X

other Samples (left right) by Tim Kleinert

but i think you mean "Living on Video" right?

  • who can say what is the original music playing in first part?!

  • yeaaahhh....pretty cool

    I remember this brilliant demo

nice digi-track at the beginning (left right, lol) and at the end.

    cool GFX..

    remember the good old times

    C64 rules...

    thanx for uploading...

  • My alltime favourite demo. The final tune is just awesome, kudos to Tim Kleinart. The demo looks a bit oldschool these days, but it still has style.

  • Really impressive what you can do with just 1 Mhz!

  • youtube, doesn't do it justice. get winvice emu and download the demo off c64 dot ch =) .. its an oldie.. but a goodie.. one of my favs.. along with dutch breeze by blackmail and deus ex machina by crest. 128 colours on a 16 colour computer etc ;-)

  • How the hell did you pull this off on a Commodore 64?

  • Did you want specifics? :D
