@Widget2174 And we must not forget similar massacres like this have happened all across Europe during the same period. I wish you the best of luck with the (possible) writing of a screenplay episode. It sounds very interesting.
I have a very vague tenuous connection insofar that my mother told me that her boyfriend's uncle was one of the many people who had been frogmarched to the church at Oradour which was set alight by the Germans. His remains were found, clutching the children to him to to afford protection
@Widget2174 Thank you for sharing this. It makes me sad thinking about it but I hope this brave man managed to offer those poor children some security. I hope they didn't suffer..

Sad ...but most appropriate music from Tears for Fears for yet another painful story of History... WW2 RIP forevermore all lost then...and today.
