Wacky, the method I was taught by my Malaysian & Singaporean flatmates back in the Murdoch Student Village was to dump all of the packet contents into the boiling water then eat/drink the whole bowl, no draining. Important to get the water level correct, use too much and you dilute the contents, too little and you're struggling to submerge the noodles for cooking. If budget allows, add extras like bacon, pork, vegetables & egg to the mix.

you should try frying the noodles with the seasoning and sauces after pouring it out of the drainer. oooh and add a fried egg too. trust once u start u wont go back. but then again ull prolly stop eating mi goreng like me cos it takes a million yrs to make.
