I actually tolerated new characters up until season 9. Because the engines that made they're debut from seasons 5-7 I believe replaced the some of the non-televised engines from the Railway Series. I've added it up and there was a total of 30 engines on Sodor from the books. And all the engines from seasons 1-7 of the tv series equals the same amount. But from season 9 onwards, there were too many. What I'm trying to say is I'm alright with Emily being on Sodor, just not as a main engine.
