@firekid654 FAT16 means the operational system your Memory Stick is gonna have (the way it works)

FAT32 is supposedly made for bigger Memorys but is lower reading your memory Stick, with FAT16 is faster!

wow i made this a long time ago, nowdays memories are faster so you people dont need to do that, just buy latest generation of memory cards, they are fast, to re-format your memory card back to FAT32, just re-format it using your psp i think there is an option there to format memory cards, or connect your memory card to your computer using your psp or a memory card reader, and once your computer has recognized your memory card, right click on it and look for the option

"format", and thats it, by default those methods will re-format your memory back to FAT32........just remember formatting a memory means it will delete everything in it

yo I did it. first i conncted from my psp it wouldn't work so i went and took out the memory stick and shoved it up the computers ass then i did the same method and it works. hope that helped.

You should've backed up all your psp files before you format it. Formatting your psp will delete all the files and it will never come back.

Ok changed my mind... This is shit don't do it. After you do it, your PSP won't recognize any games or ISO's on your memory card and you will have to format it right back to FAT32 with the PSP.

I THINK, that FAT16 is your file system, i checked my memory sticks file system, it is FAT32

FAT means File Allocation Table, Its the way data is stored, think of it as a container with compartments.

FAT 16 works well for sizes under 40gb or so, FAT32 really only works well with big sizes like 80gb above.

FAT16 - File Allocation Table 16 Bit

FAT32 - File Allocation Table 32 Bit

Unless you work with Memory Cards/Hard Drives or anything like that this doesnt really need explaining.
