  • What a beautiful gospel song !!

  • God Bless you Hank!

  • The late brother Williams had spinal bifida. That prevented him from being drafted in WWII, and also led to his dependency on pain killers and alcohol. Its true he had his flaws, but I think he was a true believer. He's with Jesus now.

  • you can hear the pain in the dudes voice, he was always torn between sin and god.

  • @TATELANDDOG ain't we all

  • I love this stuff.

  • reminds me of my great grandparents missing you mamma and pappa

    charlesthepoet2003 THANKS.

  • Is Audrey singing with him or was she out raising hell somewhere?

  • According to a musician friend of Hank's, Hank told him he had "been called to preach, but didn't answer the call." Of interest is that on the last Sunday of his life, Hank went to church but didn't sing a special. Hank knew months before that he was a doomed man. I like to think he "got right" there at the end...

  • Did he write this song. ?

  • @fromtheright no this is an old hymn hank didnt write it

  • Some day, hard times will come and we'll be thankful to sing such a song to our God

  • Someone missed the like button.. a shame.

  • who ever don't like this song must not love jesus christ our lord and savior

  • Thanks for everything Mr. Williams. I know your down by the river, cane pole in the mud singin gospel songs with your momma. The world aint the same without ya.,

  • This is the music of the greatest country singer/writer that ever lived my friends.

  • I agree man, this type of great old music will never die. Makes everyone feel good.

  • The amount of positive and negative comments only demonstrates the power of artisitic greatness. No one would bother to harrass each other if it were not under the umbrage of the work of such an amazingly imaginative man. His Maker took him home to wherever that may be. He deserved the rest and peace of death. I would imagine he welcomed it as does everyone who suffers.

  • Thank you for sharing!! This is my favorite hymn and it's nearly impossible to find a good old style rendition! Old southern camp meeting style! :)

  • if you like true country music you will love the man who started it all hank williams . they dont make country music like this anymore . hank you live on god bless sir

  • I love this song. Thank you Hank

  • I have always loved Hank Williams and his songs are all classics now. This old song is one I grew up singing in church. Hank, Jr. is a really good singer - as long as he sticks to the good music. We saw him twice years ago and he was quite a showman. I have tried to listen to his son's music but it turned me off when he used so much profanity during a show he was doing which was made into a video. Hopefully that won't be his aim in life. Thank you for posting - Paula

  • Hank Williams Sr, left a legacy of songs which surpasses any singing artist 'past or presant which can be interperted by any artist

  • never hear hank sr do this 1 ty

I'm sure there are dozens more out there, and I wish they'd quit fightin' over 'em and get them all out here while there are still a bunch of Hank Sr. fans still alive!!

    Hank (SENIOR) rules!

  • Wonderful rendention by Hank himself!

    ~Derek

  • Hank III needs to stop by here and listen.

  • thats for sure. i like hank III's style of music and i want to like him but he needs to find the Lord for sure.

  • Well I don't know if Hank found the Lord, but the Lord found him and took him away from a life of misery and heartbreak.

  • @ENYAWF will always live on at rocky gap

  • @ENYAWF well said my friend

  • @knighthawk777 I don't like Hank III but I still hope he finds the Lord along with Bocephus who is the real king of country.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Idiot

  • @Lasagander Sorry to hear that about your mom. Has she done into dimentia? That is no reason to call her an idiot. You should be ashamed of urself.

  • My comment was in response some other comment. Unfortunately our comments don't always respond with the actual quote! My Mom {who I love dearly) dosen't have dimentia, nor would I ever call her an idiot!

  • @Lasagander I didn't mean to hurt ur feelings...just reflecting back what I received and doing it in a nice roundabout way over 2 months ago.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE bocephus is as productive to country as the drugs that killed Sr

  • yes he does n 3's old man needs to give it up
