SOPA is not about piracy its more on shutting down share websites like facebook or any other social networking sites thats all. The music industry doesn't make money of selling music anymore, it makes money from live tours and merchandise. Hollywood gets minimally affected by online piracy, only independant film makers lose out. If you want to talk about private property, SOPA and PIPA is the same as the FBI forming a ring around your house so nobody can steal from you.

Since Netflix and Redbox the people that I know that did it have no reason to do it anymore. No one wants to give 20 to 30 dollars for a movie their only going to watch once. However, 1 dollar rental or 9 dollars a month for netflix those people have stopped pirating movies.
