Dude, Playing along with a song is not doing a cover. Would you do this in a bar? You are practicing.....The real lead was by Barry Godreau on the studio recording.
@dannyhood66 No, it just means you don't have 2 octaves. No big deal. Basically, the only difference between a 23 fret guitar and a 24 fret guitar is that the 23 fret guitar doesn't have that highest note.
@2012Romney No? Shit the 23rd fret on the high E string is an E flat note, Which is different to me anyways, it means something, like trying to bend up to an ear piercing F# or G note might be little too much and break string it happens.
Great playing and superb tone there MisterShred! What type of Pickups do you have in your 75? I want to replace the pickups in my 79 Custom and love that warm creamy Boston tone. Thanks so much!
Outstanding, thanks for posting it up as I have been wanting to see how it is played. Very inspirational as you make it look so easy with your finesse on the instrument.
hey man... just wanted to say you did a great job! 8) and i love the guitar... just got a Gibson les paul studio its cool... but im thinkin of getting a strat with a reallly nice SRV sound
Great job Mister Shred! Now let me give you all some quick facts about this song.
A reviewer stated that Tom Scholz plays on this song. Well that's correct, but he does not play the guitar, just the organ. It's Barry Goudreau who plays the lead guitar. It says so on the liner notes from the remastered "Boston" cd. I saw Boston live in June of 1986 in Dallas's Cotton Bowl. Eventhough I was stoned, I recall with clarity that Gary Phil played the lead and rhythm guitar on this song.
your not going to believe this but i was using this video as kind of lesson and then all of the sudden it started snowing on the screen then your guitar bent. it was crazy.lol good cover dude
It's a Duncan Custom in the bridge and a Duncan 59'er in the neck. I've had this guitar for many years now. If I were to buy it today I wouldn't spend the money they're asking. So no, the gibsons aren't 4 times better than the epis. BUt if you've got the money to blow do it cause the Gibsons are pretty sweet.
you did an excelent job could you please make a vid teaching the acustic part really want to learn that but im not too great so if you could make a vid i would really appreciate it thanks
