I'm new to all of this vampire thing and I just read the first book in the series (Dead until dark) and really loved it but I have a question about the show.

Am I right when I think that each season is based on each book? That season 1 is based only on Dead until dark and that the upcoming season 2 will be based on the second and etc.?

They don't kind of mix together what's in the books, right?

The do. But they don't exactly follow the book either so some times you don't know if it's something new or something that will only show up on that book you haven't got to it yet.

Also, season 2 will probably have elements from book 2 and 3 and it's likely that as the season and the show go on the whole thing will sort of stand in its own.
