  • Holy @%$#!

  • I've caught bigger sturgon

  • @takenhope1234567890 - Yes there are tons of very large fish in this river. Do you have a video? Love to watch it.

  • is that vantage bridge ?

  • @Stainlesstan - This is the bridge at The Dalles

  • Nice catch

  • @pitball99 - Thanks it was a blast. Wears you out though.

  • That's awesome. How big was that and how big do they normally get?

  • @xTheuglytruthx - The boat we were in was a 19'. The fish was somewhere in the vicinity of 9 to 11'. Hard to tell exactly as we never got it clear out of the water. I have seen photos at the dam and I believe the largest one on record back in the day was around 2500 lbs. They brought them in using their old Ford trucks.

  • @CitdRodda fuck, that is awesome. I wanna by a truck now just so i can fish...

  • @xTheuglytruthx How long was the fight to get it to the boat?

  • great catch man that was huge!

  • Wow..that is some fish. I hope I get one on line someday.

  • is tht an aripima ?

  • @ajhunt61 it is sturgeon

Good catch man i got really amazed, well it is not that i haven't seen a big fish before...

  • @MrSeanshapiro You sir know nothing about fishing. Obvious it was a long fight. Troll somewhere else dumbass.

  • whoah!!! jackpot!

  • That is one heck of a catch. Wish I could catch a sturgeon someday. Congrats.

  • @MrSeanshapiro u can see it jump u itdiot

  • @MrSeanshapiro - Not sure what you are smoking but you may want to cut back dude. Brain has only so many cells and looks like you have a major shortage.

  • @CitdRodda how come you cant keep fish that big???

  • @mrtyler8837 - Just like so many other species they are being protected. The large fish like that one are the breeders.

  • why did you not keep it

  • @mrkittyface12 - It is not legal to keep them that big.

  • @CitdRodda Really damn, they are getting STRICT. btw I caught an unknown saltwater fish; anyone know what It is. It was released I have a video of it up.

  • @mrkittyface12 your a fucking idiot its because ppl like you that fish populations are going down i hope you think about that you prick

  • so u didn't catch the fish??????

  • HAHA! Nice exercise for arms !

  • Nice Brandon Roy jersey!

  • @lilwayne451 - Yeah that jersey was bought back in the day when Brandon still had knees.

  • Woah.

  • So that is can fight another day and that it is against the law to keep them this large. But mostly because we wanted to let it continue to live.

  • Why let it go?

  • I was waiting for the fish to bite his hand

  • @TheVilliam13 - Yeah my son was kind of freaked out at first. No teeth and their mouth is like a giant sucker.

  • @CitdRodda Ok

  • @TheVilliam13 sturgeon are bottom feeders. theyre scavenger fish no teeth

  • that is a monster fish i cout one just like it

  • wat did u use for the bait

  • @2345nerd - We used some dead floating Chad.

  • Ignorant Bait Fisherman Says: WHAT!! YOU DIDN'T EAT IT?!?!

  • @mackles - Can't keep em when they are this big. Also it was older than me (I'm getting up there) and eating something older than me just doesn't seem right.

Nice fish though it's fun catchin them that big isn't it!

  • @FordsAreSuperior - Yes its a blast, but it does wear you out after catching 2 or 3 in an evening. If I did this every night I would not be so pudgy.

  • 2:08 listen to that guy in the back hateing "thats small compaired to the one we caught last night" what a dick head. throw him overboard. great catch man good job on that one.

  • @blkshyne - that was our boat captain's son. He was in a boat alongside of us. Not a dickhead just giving us a bad time and he probably did catch a bigger one.

  • @blkshyne i also hate people compare invisable things...what matters is whats visual.seeing is believing.

  • omg omg omg that is gigantic aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

  • thats what american fishing is all about bitchez

  • holy shit!

  • That's a cool video and a huge fish, I asked because I'm moving to Yakima next year..

  • @sgallo23 - it is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Yakima to The Dalles. Good luck with your move.

  • Is that near Yakima, WA?

  • @sgallo23 - The Columbia River does not run by Yakima. This was located about 90 miles from Yakima.

  • thats a big lake sturgeon

  • @rjared37 - Actually it is a White Sturgeon that live in the Columbia River.

  • Good Catch man.

  • where were u

  • dam that thing big

  • nice catch man!

  • yall arent aloud to keep them?

  • @peaster4 - It is only catch and release in the area we fish.

  • k...

  • where was that ??????????????

  • @ak27samuel - Columbia River by The Dalles, OR. I can't be more specific as I have been sworn to secrecy.

  • lucky

  • nice fish guys!!! congratz!!(:

  • i know. but were they trying to get something that big?

  • @firedril101 That was our intention. The gentleman that took us out takes sev people out over a couple of weeks. He knows just where to go and bait to use. Believe me it only takes a few short minutes to hook them. The are several hundreds if not thousands laying on the shallow shelf gorging on the shad run. Shad is the bait we used. My other video shows another gentleman out the very next day in the same location and they caught 6. 3 is my limit in one day as they will really wear you out.

  • whow! my lord! what would have happened if it started fighting while he had his hand in its mouth? :P

  • haha dude said thats small compared to what we got last night lol i bet buddy

  • @shitfacedcockmaster8 - actually there are sturgeon in that river that are much larger. Earlier that same evening I had one on and never saw it. We are fishing in about 18' of water and there is a shelf off to the side of the river that drops down to about 150'. The large ones, as the one I had on but never saw always make a run for that shelf. You can't stop em and once they go over your line breaks leaving you to wonder.....

  • wow

  • nice fish and gz for the fish :D

  • pretty cool.

  • oh , snap that fish wuz crazy 5/5

  • That was an amazing jump scene you caught! Nice work!! Great video coming out of the Northwest!! 5/5

  • nice catch. what did you use as bait?

  • We scooped up some dead floating Shad on the way to the anchoring spot. We then used the heads of the Shad. At this time of year the Sturgeon are nesting and feeding on the spawned out Shad floating down river. I think this Shad season around 1.5 million of them traveled through the dams to reach their spawning grounds.

  • why cant you bring it on board? i really dont know much about fishing thats why ia m asking .......

  • Well it weighed too much for one thing. We estimate 500 - 600 lbs. No rigging on the boat so would have had to drag it shore. Did not want to put the fish through anything more than we did. You cannot legally keep them once they are over 60".

  • cool thats

  • Great Video. Looks like a blast. Thanks for sharing

  • Aren't Sturgeon like...prehistoric?

  • Yes, some experts (?) think they are the same as they were several millions of years ago. The one in the video is most likely over 65 years of age. They can live up to 100 years. Very adaptable and tough fish!
