  • That song sounds like the song at the end of the shining!

  • Ima go brush my hair now :)

  • This is just amazing!

  • @EmmyGurl523 Totally agree

  • does society become looks like slutty?

  • I wonder where you can run i the hit 0f 100F in Texas

it is also was in east coast Texas was not developed at all in 1950

Then they build Texas like village no walk

WE played outside in 1960 as children near our apartments.

Today children like disable in hot hot Texas

  • And no bloody tattoos! Ladies don't have them! lol

  • And HYGIENE was so important back then. There is no reason why a grown college aged student should have the same breath 'aroma' comparable to a DOG'S!

  • Why don't us Americans SOUND that way anymore? Their accents are so polished and nowadays people cannot speak properly :/

  • SHES ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! SOUNDS OLD BUT SHES RIGHT!

  • Does anyone know the title of a book I'm looking for? It has a red and white cover and the illustration in the book are either red or black. It is a vintage book and it tells you how to do different hair styles, like pin curls and victory rolls. Thanks!

  • Pause at 4:42 , the coffee is happy :)

  • @hejskavihasex fuckin made my day!

  • Wow! This was actually very helpful to me. I had forgotten some of these basic things, so I am very happy to have this to remind me! *favorited* *subscribed*

  • its one thing if they are camping, but i see so many young women that wear baseball caps and baggy hoodies on dates or out for dinner and its like what are you wearing?! Get dressed?!

  • This is still applicable today!

  • Totally glamorous <3

  • Oh how society has changed... :(

  • I wish girls would act like this today. They need to teach this stuff like makeup. poster, manners, proper things to wear. I know a lot of people who need that lesson -_-

  • fabulous

  • i know some girls that need to watch this..lol

  • The posture/slouching tip at the end is something I wish everyone (male of female) would get into their heads. Makes a huge difference.

  • Blame the feminists.Women should dress more feminine and be elegant again.

  • @santoscidadao yeah I would if my legs wouldnt say fat no matter how much weight I lose...

  • I like how in the 1940's you could fit three women in a chair meant for one. And they almost don't look uncomfortable. Good for them I say!

  • hmm.. why is everyone against nowadays women? like men are perfect!

  • @COSMOenWANDA People are talking about women because these videos are about women. I didn't see anyone say men are perfect.

  • @CheerfulPie hm.. okay... that's cool.

  • I always wonder how the ladies back then were so pretty. They were naturally beautiful & didnt have to have all the products we have today to make them look beautiful.

  • @EpicPiano12 because these women are models. of course there were ugly people to.

  • where can i watch the rest of her lectures?! i love this lady!

  • ive never heard the words social sercurity when talking about keeping fresh and wearing deorderant regulary wow..lol

  • Hidden Mickey at 4:52!!!

  • Why don't we have this anymore...This is why women were so beautiful back then. They were all unique, a piece of art, only using makeup and clothes to enhance their inside beauty. Today, it's how much money you spent on your eyeshadow, how much you tease your hair, how tan you are. It's covering up what you naturally have so you can take off more of your clothes and make other people happy. I'd like to tell any woman reading this, that you ARE beautiful. Don't change. <3

  • I LOVE how they don't mention anything about the 'perfect body weight' etc. So good.

  • i never saw one ugly person in this video... all of them in the audience were so gorgeous

  • It's amazing to me that the women are really "white" I've gotten so used to seeing people with tans and bronzers and stuff and it really is new to see them with thier "real" skin color.

  • I think the redhead woman is Jane Wyman, it looks like her.

  • @ 5:31 thats how the average teenager today walks in high school lol

  • that intro music was in the shining D:

  • i wan this music man i want a big collection of music like this. what is the gener of this kind of music? just 40s? their must be a name

  • I love their Voices

  • Ps. I'm totally diggin' the ginger! Her hair totally just pops right out of the screen! ^_^

    Ginger pride!!! :D <3

  • Look how pale they all look! And today women are so darned obssesed with being tan that they look orange! Well screw that! I take pride in my pale skin! And if I'm going to get skin cancer, I'm going to do it naturally. Not by laying in a bed made of lights!!!!

  • @soccer69heit : Its funny how you mention about the pale look. Back then, a pale complexion was linked with someone that had money...if you had money you were more likely to stay indoors hence a darker color was linked to someone that did manual labor outside. Now however, a darker skin color is linked to vitality and having the ability to go outside the home. But I am all for a paler look...I mean it looks lovely as the sun sags and unevens skin tone ;)

  • @soccer69heit

tanning for women wasn't popular until coco chanel came back from southern france with a healthy tan one summer and it suddenly became attractive

  • @soccer69heit Too much naturally sun can also cause skin cancer, i love being pale too. <3

  • @BarbiesPornstar Yay! Go us! :D

  • @soccer69heit but what if you're naturally tan? D: now i feel ugly...

  • @SkateAndCheerGirl Aw, no - naturally brown is beautiful - I look like a ghost LOL It's those stupid orange tans that girls use these days that look ugly.

  • Oh, I adore these late 1930s-early-mid 1940s videos. I am going to start dressing like this. Thank You for uploading them!

    ~Anastasia Lee~

  • I LOVE this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 4:50 hidden mickey!

pretty good advice though...i wish most of the girls/women nowadays would pay attention to this lol

  • That's all actually very good advice

  • @ 2:15 I spot identical twins in the front row :)

  • I love 2010 ( 2011 nearly :D )

but all the girls at our school are orange!!

Everything was alot easier and less dramatic back then :(

  • the flared shorts must have been great fun for the men.

  • lmao to "TheFaustianMan" the twilight comment is so true.

  • English gentleman (36) seeks wife. Age 24-36. To live 1940's lifestyle on daily basis.

Well ladies, there is no harm in asking is there? Those of you whom dress in 30-50's style look gorgeous.

I like the 30's-50's and it might be fun to furnish a house like that and drive the relivant car etc. Lots of other hobbies and interests as well.

    Rob in England

  • @KAOSRIFLE I couldn't agree more!

  • I just noticed the background song was from The Shining.. :/

  • their voices are so cyute =3= i wanna have a cute bubbly 1940s voice~!

  • Im a teen, and even if i love the "modern styles" (which are actyally copies of past styles and eras) im in love with this, it's beautifull, chic, smart and glamorous.

  • @revolverbangbang agreed~<3

  • Haha Sitting up writing letters is the equivalent of texting all night when you should be sleeping. :D it's a disease that hasn't been cured through the generations..

  • Her hair is just SO FASCINATING!

  • I so wish I had grown up during these times.Thy should teach this to the young girls of today.

  • Being a woman is powerful business..

Oh, how I wish I was born during the 40's! Stupid 90s with Spice Girls >.>

  • @madamen13 yeah.. but hay the 90's were the best tho!

  • @madamen13 lol me to. My parents were old fashioned. They wouldnt let me listen to the spice girls

  • These women have a lot of balls talking about natural make-up.

  • @grammardog it has come to my attention that natural meant "no foundation, a SMIDGE of mascara, if any...and well blotted lipstick and light powder. " I wouldve been happy if someone taught me that as a teen. its not in the color one wears...but in application.:)

  • @safehouse123 I think you can wear more makeup then mascara and still look natural, but it depends on your age. 13-15 year olds should stick to next to no makeup, like what you suggested. But I think neutral eyeshadows, and lightly applied eyeliner can look natural if you know how to do it right. Too many girls go crazy with the eyeliner and thick, mask like foundation. They should teach grooming or beauty in hi school because it is important in the real world, looking pulled together.

  • @tango2470 Definitely. These women actually wore little make up, especially "country girls" In some circles, foundation was a big no no, still. Today i think its even easier to look natural, because of the various mineral make ups available now.

  • Ps...i also think its a great function of those new make ups that they are easy to blend....and even the more daring shadow colors are soft:) Definitely an improvement on the 80's. Why if I had access to those as a teen, im sure my skin wouldve been better. :) Then theres Youtube tutorials...i learned a new eyeshadow technique and everyone loves it. :)

  • What did she mean when she said that deodorant is a shortcut to social security?

  • @Victorian9322 pleasant to be around....

  • @Victorian9322 pleasant to be around....attention to grooming detail= social security:)

  • women used to be very glamorous.....

  • Rest in peace class and poise.

  • 2010 Steps to being Glamourous:

    1. Get on Stickcam

    2. Take off clothes

    3. ?????

    4. PROFIT

Also, "watch movies like twilight and listen to shitty music." can be added to or used as a replacement for number 2.

  • wonderful :-)

  • i was completely born at the wrong time (90s), the 40s was the decade of sheer elegance and grace!

  • i wish people were like this today!

  • This was fantastic. So prim and proper. I find it interesting that they were concerned about diet and exercise back then too. I always seem to think of it as a modern day obsession.

  • haha i love this woman but why does she look so tense all the time-- her shoulders are up by her ears lol

  • I love this stuff! I look forward to these ads and vintage videos. Thanks to all you who keep us satisfied.

  • "Deodorant - Shortcut to social security" I love this woman. :D

  • love it!! :)

  • Whoa that diet is way off haha

  • why aren't people teaching these nowadays?

  • @kendoprincess i agree. It seems the Modern Idea of "beauty" or "glamour" consists of too tight, ill fitting clothes, cylicone implants and botox, and ten pounds of makeup.

  • @kendoprincess Women look absolutely ragged today! They need to take a tip from this!

  • @kendoprincess I completely agree

  • that video was great. i REALLY need to do what this video says... this is good advice anyone can apply. :) Thanks!

  • I LOVEEEE these vids!

  • so true. i love these videos

  • I absolutely adore all these videos. They're so interesting! I seem to only be able to work the just got out of bed/heroin addict/shaggy look unfortunately. I will never be glamorous and polished like that :(

  • Pretty much everything in the video is accurate if you really think about it; its a lot to say from a simpler time.

  • @LilySoSo I think the beauty routine of a modern day teenager would include: Find the lowest cut top, and lowest cut, tightest jeans you can possibly find, no matter what your body type is, bra straps are a must, and butt cracks are acceptale. Apply a thick mask like layer of foundation, and a pound of eyeliner. Bleach hair as blonde a it can go without it falling out, If breasts are small save up for surgery because you arent pretty. No offence, this doesnt apply to everyone but it does a lot

  • And keep that air of freshness by using a deodorant regularly!

  • I adore this...both entertaining, true and a sadly fading each day. Thank you for keeping true glamour alive. Crystal
