I agree with @MakeupbySP ! I even used an Eco tools eyeliner brush and it works sooooo much better and I have the brown one which is more pigmented than the eggplant one you have :)

A little trick I like to do is to use my blowdryer directly on the Gel Liner and wait until the product has turned into a gooey substance. It is definitely easier to work with and the color deepens. I actually have the black one and I havent even hit the bottom yet. Im barely, well, not really half way through with it and let me just say, I LOVE smokey eyes, and wear my liner pretty thick, so....Two thumbs up!

i agree, i think its the color eggplant because I use the black one as well and it is very creamy and pigmented

I use the black gel liner all the time and it works so well for me. The eggplant one maybe not so much but if you just want a matt black line then the black one works super well.

I have the brown gel liner, and i love it. it helps it show up more if you actually use the brush tool that it comes with.

If you want a cheap eggplant color that's more opaque than the Maybelline one, Wet `n Wild has one for only $4, and it smudges the least out of any drugstore gel/cream liner I've tried :)

I bought the Maybelline gel liner in charcoal. It wasn't creamy or pigmented when I first got it. Then I got the idea to stir up the liner with a toothpick to "fluff" it. Now, my liner is SUPER creamy and a lot darker, since it isn't so dry. Maybe it will work for the eggplant color too!

I was disappointed with the gel liner, too. While with Mac and L'oreal, a little goes a long way, with this one, a lot is needed.

@CaixaDeSol i think its a great drugstore gel liner and good for beginners imho. i have brown - very pleased with the liner and the brush- first time using a gel or cream liner. I am not a beginner though when it comes to make up or liner. ♥

I love the Bobbi Brown gel liners, too. Thought the Maybelline might be a cheaper dupe for Bobbi Brown's violet gel liner, but I guess not! great review- thanks!

I found the Maybelline eye studio quads to be chalky, too. I can work with them, but they can be crumbly.

As for the gel liner, I bought Black and it is very dark. For me, it wasn't quite as creamy, but it does a decent job. The brush that comes with it is junk though. It does have very good staying power. In fact, it dries fairly quickly, too.

Ive never used a gel liner before but that one did look abit sheer I prefer my eyeliner on my top lash line to be dark too, so I probably wont get that one to try out if it takes a few coats....

the irrisistably ivy pallete is alot like the Urban Decay Get Baked pallete. They both have bronzy colors and then a turquoise thrown in. ahhaa

@whydiddiscodie94 Ditto that, that palette is TOTALLY a Urban Decay Get Baked knock-off, but worse quality. While UD is more expensive, the bronze is a true bronze (not orangey) and instead of the nude color you get a beautiful super-pigmented gold.

You should try the gel liners (or cream, I'm not sure what it is) from Wet N' Wild. I use the black one every day and love it. It stays forever, and is very black. =)

for the gel liner, try using a angled liner brush instead. a more dense angled liner brush will pick up the product and apply better :)

Wet and Wild has a gel liner about $6 thats really good! Im sure if their eggplant shade is any better than the maybelline one, but the black is amazing!

I love the Wet n Wild one, too! :) I was super impressed. They are so soft and creamy, but stay on all day.

The black is awesome, but I did have some problems with the pigmentation on the eggplant. I've wondered if I got a bad one though because the black is jet black. If only they made it in navy blue.... I would be so happy.*sigh*

I was thinking of trying the purple liquid liner from Wet n Wild instead. Hopefully that has a better pay off.
