She was in her late 40's here. + years of smoking & drinking back in old Hollywood days,aged ppl also the styles back then wasnt flattering to older actresses. Today their makeup & hair has helped them appear "younger" Miss Cooper had 2 facelifts in 1984 & again a fewyrs ago, she looks great for a woman in her early 80's She had a great surgeon who didnt change her face much just made her more refreshed unike Joan Rivers & others.

This must be the earliest video featuring Katherine Chancellor, and also the earliest one featuring Brock. It was in 1974. The woman in the scene does not look like the Katherine Chancellor I am familiar with today. I thought it would be, perhaps, a 50-year old version of today's Katherine Chancellor, not some completely different-looking person.

@scottyfilmbuff Back then it was the mid 70's. the styles changed alot PPL wore hats & the southwestern influence was popular. Brock & Kay always had a great chemistry on screen which is why its nice when he returns. There's something special when characters from a long running show are reunited. Tucker & Kay will never have that history the way Brock & Kay have. It's also great to see clips when the Foster-Brooks family were on the show, I hope Y&R never goes off the air,

Yes it is. I know she doesn't quite look the same, but it's her. In 1984, she got a facelift and that makes it a little hard to recognize her. This is back in 1974.

Philip was still alive. Brock came to town in the middle of Katherine and Phillip's stormy marriage. Brock announced that he wanted to settle down and become a minister and then Jill wound up marrying him in order to stay away from Philip(which she was trying very hard to do) people tend to forget that Jill was very innocent back then and that Katherine was very petty and vindictive, not the pillar of the community like she is today.

At 2:15 Katharine's Theme comes in! I loved that. They used this everytime she was on for 20 years! (If she'd been an original cast member, I'm sure it would have been on the Soundtrack from 1974 (?). People--if you love this old music find it on Amazon. Several copies for $10!!!!
