  • One of the heaviest songs I've ever heard that nobody else has heard.

  • Love this song! I wore out the cassette!

  • I got this 8track when I was 13 or so - had it for years. Not a chance of remembering where I got it, or where it went.

  • Good Tune ! Brings back memories of high school days

  • but then again, can;t rember who toured with who, wasted days and wasted nights.

  • this song just kicks ass man

  • man if I had a dollar for every time I air guitared to these guys.

  • Nazareth new album (BIG DOGZ) set for release April 15!!!

  • The intense vocal delivery alone in this exceptional song blows and tears away anything Brian Johnson has ever done for AC\DC. (Yes, long live Bon!!),

Great band, old favorite, saw 'em twice, vinyl still around since I was 13.

If you are a kid and into this, great....don't ever feed your ears (Lady) caca.

  • I love Nazareth!

  • I forgot all about this song from my high school days and palying this at the keggers we had, Wow this band rocked out period.

  • This sounds so much like AC/DC in their prime..the only difference is, they could have epic songs like Please Don't Judas Me or slow it down for Love Hurts. so good

  • @livewirevirginia And Madelaine, Flying, and Turning a new leaf!!!

  • expect no mercy

  • THIS IS ROCK SONG !!! Heard the voice and message , he has something to say ..

  • Always played after a good break-up with a chick,....along with a few shots,....classic!

  • if you play this faster its like woman of wolfmother.

    fuck them, Nazareth ROCKS HARDER!!!!

  • Just so no one gets me wrong, I AM a Nazareth fan, I do play bass, and this song only has 6 notes. How they made a song with only 6 notes sound that cool, I don't know.

  • @MrBassman1975

Agreed. Great song. No reason for dbstick to change it into some type of generational political thing whatsoever. I admit I like far more songs from the 70s, but acting like the 70s wasn't a commercial adventure as well? Just what sold was different at that time, and, despite much crap then, a lot of cool stuff came about as well. Not unlike today in fact...

  • this band is great they have so much feeling you can feel from vocal and instruments they sound pissed,

  • MySoundGarden: lol, I concur!

  • dbltrplx: I couldn't 've said it better ! You're damn right!! All these gd dmn whining pussies nowdays, makes us wonder what the hell they've been listening to. I remember, when jerks seeking for fast easy money brought those "garage bands" out on a stage, I lost it right then and there...

Thanks YouTube we can hear real music!

  • one of the few albums you can listen all the way thru & like every song,......

  • @wilatemodel agreed

  • I think this was the very first band I ever heard and I was like 5 or something, I remember jamming to this on 8 track on my parents coffin-like 8 track/record player stereo. This was the album they had, very awesome stuff! Still rocks!

  • I figured out what the picture on the album cover is...Locust Reaper Ghost vs. Galactic Space Eagle! But who wins?

  • @murdock6107-that's funny!! I remember cleaning weed on album covers to get the seeds out.-using a "MAC" CARD-LMAO I was telling a younger friend about it, I said "yeah, remember cleaning your weed on an album cover?" He looked at me like I was an alien-he said "what? weed doesn't have seeds in it".(?????? since when?)Thanks for the memory!!And yes... definately KICK ASS ROCK-N-ROLL!!! @StarvFred-THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • @MySoundGarden seeds? LMAO!

  • hair of the dog will always be the shit people so kneel

  • One of the 10 best albums ever made.

  • mY FIRST BAND EVER DID A BAD ASS COVER OF THIS!

dAMN, thanks for the uploaded memories!

  • pure rock heartbreak and kickass riffs dan is the man

  • Im a musician, this is one of my biggest influences. Something old, something new, borrowed and blue....Love to all that holds this music dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Axl Rose looked up the man and he was right to do so. I really can hear the inluence. Fucking great, angry tune. I love this.

  • i broke a kids noes lesing to this song

  • @ne22r :D

  • @Eliskoopa dued cheked out your channel alice cooper rocks'

  • I feel sorry for dude - It makes for an excellent song - but the chick he was in a relationship with was kicking his ass "with bitterness and frustration" hahaha

I guess she was also a "whiskey drinking woman" hahaha

  • What an epic album! How was it, that Miss Misery and Beggars Day were both omitted from The Very Best of and The Very Very Best of Nazareth albums? That should've been impossible. I realize at some point you have to start leaving off some songs from Hair of The Dog or you're just remaking the album and adding a few random hits from other albums. But come on! Any "best of" Nazareth album should include at least 5 tracks from H.O.T.D.

  • i remember this from when i was a kid... crusing around with my older brother and his buddy in his roadrunner cranking out the 8-Track..

  • Real Kick-Ass Rock & Roll !!!

I forgot that i loaned out my "Hair of the dog" cd ,

    Got to replace it!!!

I still have my vinyl LP but its a bit worn...plus the inner spine of the opening jacket has stains and scrape marks from all the weed that was cleaned

    and rolled out of it...

    lol

    Those were the Daze.....

  • This album was a masterpiece..so under rated

  • Sweet man

  • Ahhh yeah....this is da shit! :)

  • i feel such power listening this incredible music...

  • I use to have this cassette back in the 80's then my player ate it. now must find it on cd.

  • excellent album

  • Did Dan set the tone for the likes of Bon Scott, Axl Rose etc. He was certainly original and I bought every Naz album as a youngster. Great memories

  • @merseybeast76

No, Dan's too cool to be influenced.

  • I was jamming to this before I even had a girlfriend. .... in junior high and shit... Love this song.

  • I love dbltrplx

  • My cousin blew up THREE Hi-Fi systems in the 70s with this album. \m/(-_-)\m/

  • @steggieone

That's the only way to enjoy it, man. If you can hear yourself think, it's not loud enough. \m/(-_-)\m/

  • cheers 2 every miss misery that made this song possible

  • the whole album is the bomb

  • Yes a very hot hot song and heavy!!!

  • fuck yeah great song.

  • What a delightful tune. I must admit I sipped an extra glass of sherry after hearing it. The Vicar is demanding to punish me, mind you.

  • I have this freaking record album :D

  • absolutely! these guys MADE me have to rock, nice. thanx

  • yep i have one of these right now and i can twait for it to be over

  • mike stipe was cool dude, and everyone sounds like creed or atreyu now. so it's a step back sadley

  • This is the b-side on Nazareth's 1975 single "My white bicycle". I bought it to give to someone as a birthday present, but when I heard "MIss misery" I decided to keep the single and I bought my friend a different single by Mud or Fox or somebody.

I sold the single on Ebay about 2 years ago.

  • @KillNAMA I'd have done the same! this is a jewel!

  • great song

  • best song ever

  • Nazareths fourth lp.. take me back to 75.. as aten year old boy this album got me playing the drums.. darrel sweet thanks R . I . P.

  • @robbiethecook

Sweet. I actually got turned onto them in about 85 as a 14 year old. Sweet stuff nun the less. This tune, and a few others from them, bring back big, sweet memories. I drum as well although only once tried a Nazareth tune. Hair of the Dog and it never caught on with the band so never really learned it. Pretty crazy drums really.

  • I didn't listen to this great classic a long time ago and I'd almost forgot how great it sounds! this is real rock and thank you for posting it!

  • wtf

  • great got crystal ball?????!!!!!!!! set me free

  • Boy oh boy, they don't make em like Nazarath anymore. But then again, we have the internet :) thanks for the vid.

  • yeah YEAH FUCKING YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • BEST STRIPPER SONG EVER!

  • this is when rock singers sounded like rock stars, not a bunch of micheal stipe sounding whining pussies--take note pepsi generation these were real men singing and playing real rock not tree huggin faggots.

  • dbltrplx: We smoked trees back then. Today they take xanax and act totally gay.

  • this most be the most insightful comment I've ever read and I agree 100%!

  • @dbltrplx .....................gay trees ?

  • @dbltrplx I stole this comment.very well said.

  • @dbltrplx

    Agreed!

Manly men playing Manly metal with no pretense or psychosis

  • @dbltrplx tu lo has dicho compa VIVA EL ROOOOOK!!!! A HUEVO MARICAS!!!

  • @ZorroRonai no habla espanol---???????? im sure what ever you said kicks @ss esse!

  • @dbltrplx my thoughts exactly. Gotta love this harsh and mean sound.

  • @dbltrplx Your mother fucking right Iv'e had this album for years and still play this song on my axe hail real fucking rock and metal fuck this new generation rock. this is the real shit favorite song on this l.p. scotland rock hell yeah! Dan McCafferty best rock singer

  • @dbltrplx ya,..like nickelback!

  • @dbltrplx

Yeah, because Micheal Stipe is such the typical representative of rock singers these days. Maybe next time you can reference other such topical singers representative of modern styling, like Pat Boone, or Burl Ives?

  • @Lagomort hey moron, you missed the point. stipe IS represenative of all these so called "rock singers" that have been shoved through the wall street music money making machine in the last 20 years.they are all a bunch of whining sissys. have you not turned the radio on in the last 15 years? these bands that made their bones in the 60s and 70s had more ability and talent when they were in a coma then these idiots nowadays. pat boone and burl ives were'nt rock stars nitwit. stick to what u know.

  • @dbltrplx

This song is INCREDIBLY simple nitwit. A two year ol' could play it with a broken wrist. The guys in the band are below average players. I used to play the song in a band when I was 13. Next, Nazareth had tons of radio air-play with their cover of, "Love Hurts." And they were just as much a bunch of radio whores as REM. Also, bands are heavier today,...not less so...

  • @Lagomort yea its simple after someone all ready wrote it ,mimic its easy right ur own shit and see if it last 50years latter,

  • @TheZimmie71

OK, "Day Dream Believer" by the Monkees has a far better track-record than "Miss Misery." More people know it, more people cover it, and I'll bet you anything, more people download-it. Does that make it a great song? A better song?

I like Nazareth a lot, but ziippy the pinhead-dbItrix seemed to think the band showed that skill levels were higher in the 70s, and that bands were made of "real men," based on songs like this. His conclusion is a classic example of "Selection bias."

  • @Lagomort yea i agree with that ,look at ozzy and randy rhodes ,well good talk

well good song any way have a merry xmas man,

  • @Lagomort again, you missed the point stupido. every time you open your dumb@ mouth you sound dumber and dumber. quit while your not ahead. and learn how to spell moron.

  • @Lagomort your a moron

  • @dbltrplx

Um, wouldn't it be, "You're a moron?" ,,,as in "You're" being a contraction of the word, "you" and the other word, "are?"

    Just sayin'

  • @Lagomort Just more justification for me calling him uneducated.

  • @Lagomort It's so simple except for one detail... the vocals...that's the problem.. it's one of the hardest vocals to do ...so the song it's quite impossible to play as the original... so think again.Listen to nazareth live 81 snaz... if you find any vocals half agressive raspy high and strong ... you may have a point.

  • @Lagomort weird sooo simple...but you didnt creATED THE SONG DID YOU??SOOOO EASY.THE HARD PART OF MUSIC GOES BEYOUND TECHNICS..DONT YOU REALIZE THAT IN 50 YEARS?SO BAD YOU DIDNT WROTE ANY RIDICULOUS UNBELIVABLE EASY SONG TO PLAY THAT ANYONE Have heard about L.I like to see you sing miss misery if is so easy.sing it.after all vocals are part of the song right???its a retorical thing.of course youncant never sing one single note of this song...proove me wrong. You are talkingabout Dan bend over

  • @dbltrplx Wrong!! Stype is a POP singer and you're a DUMBASS.

  • @dbltrplx Wow! What a DICK. How can you even put Nazareth in the same catagory as R.E.M. you uneducated, closed minded, Jack Ass. Sounds to me like you need to quit YOUR whining and since you don"t like the X generation, I'll quote Richard Pryor and say, "Have a Coke and a smile and STFU."!

  • @MrBassman1975 plug your mexican made walmart bass into a light socket and go fk yourself. and if that doesnt kill you, wash your mouth out with a revolver. the world doesnt need another hack wanna be never will be imitation guitar player contaminating our already bleeding ears from all the sh!t the wall street money machine is shoving down our throats. stick to what you know fool. nothing.

  • @dbltrplx Nice! Not just an uneducated, closed minded, jackass, but a racist, too. Sweet!!!

  • @dbltrplx lol tree huggin faggots

  • @dbltrplx

Thank you man! This needs to be said over and over again. Many modern "rock" singers sound just alike. Back in the day, when you heard Nazareth, you knew who they were, as was the case with Bad Company, Zep, AC/DC, Foreigner, Grand Funk and the list goes on. Most of the great bands back then were innovators, with their own unique sound. That's not often the case today.

  • @dbltrplx thats the fuckin truth man.

  • @schnel127 believe in evolution -- yngwie does?

  • @dbltrplx I don't get why the "faggots" part was necessary, considering Rob Halford fits every other part of that description perfectly.

  • @Azrael138 INfuckingDEED....Nazareth could do without these "real men" "fans".

That piece of misery should get a tree up his ass.

  • @Azrael138 "Faggot" can be used in a derisive context and not be homophobic, but his reference to Michael Stipe leads me to believe he's a bigot.

    And possible closet case.

  • My personal No.1 of Nazareth! Thanks for posting!

  • @WeberWeichmann

    This song is the bomb!

  • man talk about heavyness straight from the heart!!!!!,theres a reason this album is classic!!!....pay attention kiddies, this is how its done

  • the best song from nazareth!

  • English rock the best in the world.

  • @zzloi1 Nazareth is Scottish bro,not English

  • sorry. mistaken

  • Great song man you want to see a movie that will blow your mind type into youtube old world secrets the omega project codes

  • The next year's Miss Missouri should use this as her theme song. Sure as shit she'd lose the Miss America contest, but she'd upset the status quo.

  • This song is colossally bad ass heavy metal music.

  • Just found out I have cancer. Came home and listened to this. It helped me get a grip. Funny what good rock can do for ya.

  • respect to you man, music is a powerful force and i had my mom pass from a certain type, and music is what i do for aliving, i produce hiphop, but im 29 and grew up on this shit from her and others, anyway, i hope all goes well and once again, respect!
