Wow, now THAT'S a rare kind of voice -- a contratenor who can actually sing the old Baroque opera music written for the castrati. (He actually sounds like a real castrato.) Counter-tenors normally sound like...well, men with their pants on too tight.
I guess we agree again. He is my favorite for I honestly hadn't heard a better countertenor. He sings as easily as he breathes. So besides God or Mother Nature we must thank to Nicole Fallien, his voice teacher. This is how these voices should be trained to sound.
He is a talented, intelligent and sensitive artist that has my full appreciation and admiration! He turned baroque into a trend nowadays and for this I am very thankful.
Thank you very much for the subtiles! :) I've seen the clip before and I couldn't understand a word :( well, exept "oui oui, oui oui, oui oui!" but that doesn't mean much, does it?;D
He is the finest.... ever!

Effectivement! Le "Oui oui" est incomparable pour mettre la voix en action, pas seulement pour les contre-ténors géniaux!

I prefer Cecilia Bartoli. She articulates the music better.
This guy is undoubtedly exceptional but to my taste it tires me after a while.

It's "Sovente il Sole" from Andromeda Liberata. It's on his Vivaldi "Heroes" CD.
