Personally, I loved this movie! While it was a little corny in a few places it was overall an enjoyable movie, though the soundtrack was slightly disappointing. I originally only went to see it because Ryan Reynolds was in it and he's one of my favorite actors, but as it turned out I enjoyed almost everything about it. :)

Critics movie reviews mean nothing. They don't understand what the public wants to see they just rate movies from a professional standpoint. If you haven't noticed, the only movies that get 5 stars are the extremely long movies with deep detailed plots and dramatic twists at the end.

Inception was probably your best example up there but because it was so detailed many people couldn't understand it after watching it once. I haven't heard anything about the green lantern since like the justice league was on TV. The fan base is smaller thets true but maybe since this movie contained some action and set up for a sequel the sequel will get more views.

A little bit of history. Green Lantern was introduced in 1940. His name is Allan Scott and wore a red shirt and a purple cape. The character was updated in 1959 when Hal Jordan was introduced. This is the first 'Silver Age' Green Lantern. Others followed after him. So, to clarify, John Stewart is only one of many Green Lanterns. He was included in the Justice League to have more diversity. Check Wikipedia's entry. Very informative.
