  • Im 100% from metairie,la.... i will never forget the day the levee's broke. r.i.p too all the lives lost, for yall that think it wasnt nothing, i lost my bestfriend/girlfriend in this. ):

  • Louisiana has mutants as residents, they are very slow. Although the residents are incredibly stupid, they exhibit marked evolutionary advancement akin to that of cockroaches--hurricanes, toxic oil spills--no matter what happens, Louisiana just will NOT GO AWAY. All efforts to completely eradicate Louisiana have thus far been thwarted. You see, America, what happens when you give Louisiana a dollar and a cigarette? It comes right back the next day wanting something else.

    Fuck you Louisiana.

  • I will always love you Louisiana. Got to get home..

  • oh wow this one made me cry, every time i see Catrina footage i get depressed just thinking of that day, the news, the smell of death was in the air for months but the 1st few weeks was horrible.. i watched trees going down the road like cars and we lost our home to a tornado that came out of it. I wont ever forget seeing dead bodies in the air being transported....

  • well, I M from TX and it was our pleasure to help out! I also donated to the SPCA because the animals suffered too. I know that many suffered losses worse than we can imagine, my heart goes out to you most of all.

  • I got to laugh, you all blame Bush but you knew far in advance to leave, I know some people could'nt due to financial reasons, health or no where to go, youre mayor had days to evacuate it, make it mandatory, send in 1000's of school buses to help the poor the elderly the people that needed the help, he chose no to.. Yet you people still blame Bush. For once blame yourselves, accept the blame you chose not to leave, except the blame your mayor was incompetent yet you still voted hiim in. Enough

  • If i was THE PRESIDENT I would set forth on a PANAMA CANAL type project. Take 20 yrs. and start FILLING IN to bring that whole area up above SEA LEVEL.. IT COULD BE DONE

  • the beautiful children is who my heart really goes out to. No child should have to experience such tragedy; they should have a safe, warm, loving home to go home to ALWAYS. I can only imagine the psychological damage an experience like this would have on a child :( God bless the children!

  • @maureen1002 AND IF THE DEMOCRATS HADN'T SPENT THE LAST 60yrs. RUNNING THAT AREA IT MIGHT BE BETTER. They took money that was for the LEVYS and built statues.

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 I totally agree. That was why I said the children... they are born into the ignorance and dependency their parents have chosen to partake in. They don't have a chance in the world :( People need to learn that the only people who are going to look out for them and their families are THEM. You can't depend on the government!

  • im from lakecharles louisiana when we had hurrican Rita it really made me sad bekusx our homes was damaged && we had to stay in a sheltter me && mi mom && grandmo, cuzzins mi whole family had to go to a shelter we hoped && preyed that everthing was gon be okay but it didnt we had a tree go straight through out home when we came bakk.....we had mildo everywhere & we had help from fema but she didnt do any good we had to wait till 2008 before everything gets fixed..

    this is a true story

  • i live in walker la and i saw la and was stund

  • when we got rescued out of our house and we made it safely to texas this was the first song i heard i cried all night

  • i live about 70 miles south of new orleans, a city that i love and visit often, and it is not fine. there is alot of the city that is recovered but there is still an even greater part that is still as devistated as it was in the weeks following katrina. thousands of people living under I10 in tents. it is so easy for so many people to think because such a long time has passed that everything is fine. it's far from fine. don't believe everything that i think, you might just think wrong.

  • mkkkkproductions, people are still struggling to get road home applications completed, still fighting with insurance companies about wind versus water damage, still commuting from baton rouge everyday to work, still separated from their kids, still reeling from the terrible nightmares, still trying to find another contractor because the last one and just took the money and ran and still trying to pay a mortgage&rent! get your facts together!!!

  • i liv here n i cant wait till everything is fixxed.. i used 2 luv it here n i alwayz will i just cant belive i was in that crap even 3 years later i still cry alot about the devistation but i <3 NewOrleans 4 eva <3

  • i live in new orleans. no everythings not back to the way it used to be, but we are getting there. i mean if you go to the 9th ward you still see mold and there are hardly any houses left, but if you go uptown everything is back. plus in the 9th ward MLK is back open.

  • THIS MAKES ME SICK! LIVE IN LOUISIANA! IN NEW ORLEANS! WE ARE FINE! people, no more trees are blown over, all water is safe, all electricity is back, everything is open, nothing is moldy, and everything is rebuilt! jeez! you cant be serious! and, what the heck is obama gonna do? we are already fine! some people think that we are still uner water! that was 3 years ago! get it through your head!

  • Not everyone or everything is fine I just did a google search I suggest you remove you rose-colored glasses and do your own search before opening your mouth to yap. If this was your way of saying that Bush & Co. did a great job down there I doubt you'll get much support. Bush, "Like a Rock, Only Dumber".

  • no! seriously! visist louisiana! EVERYTHING is almost exactly the way it used to be! i appreciate you guy's concern but i get very emotional when people treat us like we are helpless. and, how do you even know i wear rose colored glasses? and, google is gay. who would know better than the people who live here. and, obama can go shove his muslim head in his ass.

  • Hold on, Louisanna Obama's coming, help's on the way!!!

  • Hope is everything. But not one man will ever change Louisiana. Simply because of Louisiana. If by a miracle Obama takes the Presidential role what is he going to change? The world will be the same the next day. So far he is no different than any other candidate. Talk is cheap. He has nothing to show for it. If he makes it, he will make it or break it for blacks. A democract taking over in war times is a script for the next disaster. It won't be Louisiana. It will be all. Pray bro!

  • Spaniggles, if you are suggesting another 4 years of Bush White house you can go take a flying leap. Our country needs OUR money here for education, healthcare and helping Americans keep their homes NOT paying a few trillion dollars for a lie of WMD and Cheney's Halliburton. How dare you dirty this thread with your tripe, thanks to Bush Katrina was a disaster.

  • Putting your faith in an inexperienced retard. That will get you guys far, have you people in LA not learned your lesson? Voting for democrats and having them run LA for the past 60 something years gives you the corruption and slow response.

  • @qwertyqwerty86 MAN I CAN'T SECOND THAT STATEMENT ENUFF. THAT MAYOR LOOKED LIKE A LAS VEGAS PIMP TO ME. Seemed to me his big thing was looking and talking COOL

  • dude....i live in louisiana. we are friggen fine. nothing is under water, everyone is recovered. no more trees are blown over, houses are rebuilt, and you even spelled Louisiana wrong. i also live near new orleans. and, what is obama gonna do if we are already fine? get it through your head!

  • Dude first of all I was there for all of it and have been there since. Louisiana is not fine there may be no water and a lot may be rebuilt but theres a lot left to do. If you can't see that than you my friend are in the wrong state!!!!

  • hi beautiful song i heard this sang by dennis locoierre the singer from the band dr hook blew me away we are so lucky in the uk we dont have disasters like this unless you include our goverment we are thinking of you guys hope things get better god bless form you bros and sisters across the pond

  • Although it is hard to believe what happened, the city is moving forward. New Orleans is slowly recovering but on the contrary, I think that people need to see the good parts of New Orleans. To know that we are alive and well. The areas around New Orleans have come back and grown. 1.2-3 out of 1.4 million people have retourned. New Orleans will recover and will have a true renaissance.

  • i live and baton rouge and new orleans is like my second home..we didn't get katrina as bad as New Orleans but we got some of the hurricane and I feel lucky!!!

  • It is hard to believe that over 2 years have passed. My brother was down South on business and went to New Orleans and saw the devastation first hand...the lower 9th ward etc.. He said we have no idea up here and I believe it. My heart goes out to all who are still suffering from this disaster. I get so upset when all the news shows is the part that wasn't destroyed. We cannot forget what happened...ever!

  • im 100% cajun and damn proud of it..but this hurts because im not currently living in louisiana(im from around the bayou)..i moved about 6 years ago. i sat infront of the tv,watched the news and cried for weeks my family was affected by katrina.and sorry if u were too. im sorry if i dont know how u feel..but at the time i feel ur pain. :). god bless la(louisiana)

  • I love this, the demmocrap party in louisiana wants a repulican,State Senator Walter Baosso to switch parties and run for the demmocraps. They are not even supporting their own Demmocrap Foster Cambell unless they have to.

  • Tell me why louisiana,a state thats had been under complete demmocrap control is now at the bottom of the barrel.Tell me who is collecting the lottery money and the billions that were sent to louisiana a year and a half ago and why are they not spending it to help the poor rebuild in New Orleans.Become informed because our educational system in louisiana is also the bottom of the barrel.Vote Bobby Jindal for Governor and give louisiana Hope for a future.

  • Murder rate of over 60 this year for a small city that it is now.Demmocraps still not spending the billions sent.

  • hey i love this one

no one really gets what happend

heree i mean i am in lafayette

right now and thats where i live

and we had so many kids from katrina comming to our school

and no one really got it!

  • man! i loved it! good shit! louisiana is my home and i stay about 1 and a half away from the N.O! i loved it!

  • I don't think people get what happened (and what's still going on there), until they go and see for yourselves. I was there in 1/07. I now consider NOLA my second home, and a national treasure. I love that city.

  • I'm from New Orleans and I try to take all of my out of state friends to see it. I totally agree, man. Pictures don't do it justice.

  • I was there. Lost everything Global warming my ass. Man just cannot defeat nature. She will win everytime. Depend on yourself, not the government. You'll come out better. That's just life.

  • Seems like yesterday from your Louisiana compadre.

  • Three people were killed in afternoon shootings in New Orleans, bringing the death toll in the New Year to four in three days.

  • Thats really sad..

  • i love this song-aaron neville-louisiana 1927,im form here an this shit still hurts to see year later..i live in miami now but it aint the same...le bon ton roulee

  • Guys like bush don't believe in global warming either until their ass is on fire.

  • man I can not beleve I was in that shit

  • Great ideo. I made a video of New Orleans one year later and used this same song. Amazing devastation.

  • whos sings this song

  • Aaron Neville

  • A sad example of what happens when the Bu$h administration ignores scientific warnings and documents literally changing them. This led to insufficient preparation for an unexpected natural disaster.Very sad events such as hurricane Katrina will be increased and intensified if action isn't taken to stop the effects of global warming. We are reaching what some scientists call 'the point of no return.' I cry for the people of New Orleans and I will be crying for many more people in the future.

  • Damn.It hurts to think about all that happened... And after all this time, there STILL hasn't been enough done. It's heartbreaking.

  • god bless

  • im from there

  • Punks or not, NO ONE deserves to lose everything they have to their name. Have some compassion.

  • It brings tears to my eyes.

  • Great ... sensitive production. The use of still images can be as effective as rolling footage. Well done.

  • After almost a year, I still sat and cried watching this video of the devastation. Bless you all who lost loved ones, properties and the fact that things will never be the same again there. But you will RISE UP and begin anew and come back better. Bless you all !!!!

  • A quote from Walter Maestri, emergency management chief for Jefferson Parish, Louisiana; that appeared in the New Orleans Times-Picayune on June 8, 2004, now seems prophetic: "It appears that the money has been moved in the president’s budget to handle homeland security and the war in Iraq, and I suppose that’s the price we pay. Nobody locally is happy that the levees can’t be finished, and we are doing everything we can to make the case that this is a security issue for us."
