Back then the Caps and B's played each other quite a bit including playoffs. The B's goalie Byron Dafoe and the Cap's goalie Olaf Kolzig were very good friends. That was well known at the time and it was pretty funny to watch when they got tangled into each other. You knew they werent going to throw any punches tho.

@chief1tooth bettman def sucks but but im a bruins fan and theyve had about 4 games like this, this year. but the detroit red wings had less then 10 fighting majors all year. it all depends on the teams. and yeah american and canadiens play a brand of hockey north americans love. some russians do too but far too many europeans wont hit, fight, stick up for themselves or teammates. then there the ones who are diving and flopping. the montreal canadiens vs bruins series 2wks ago was outrageous

I was at this game with my father and two brothers.

The events after the 1st punch was thrown. Everyone stood up.. as usualy. after the benches cleared. my brother got so excited, he spit his hot dog out on a woman in front of us.

my brother threw HIS hotdog up in the air

getting relish all over his hands. Didn't know what todo with it so he wiped it on the same lady, and we kept cheering from there. A simply amazing game.

Hunter was a douche, but even as a Boston fan, I will acknowledge Craig Berube's toughness. He just couldnt handle Boston's heavyweights! Lyndon Byers gave Craig the worst beating of his career. Don't take my word for it...watch it on youtube!

Hunter was always a coward! I'm not even a NY Islanders fan, but I really wished that Bobby Nystrom and Clark Gillies were playing when Hunter cheap shotted Turgeon! One of the few times in my life I rooted for NY!
