Welp, if you like racing games it's a damn good one.

There's lots of content for you to go through in it (Even for the former 30$ price of the game + expansion), it's pretty, has great music, great gameplay. Also the community around this game is one of the nicest I've been a part of.

However the game's pretty hard to master, and it can be quite challenging. If you like that, good, get it definitely. If you don't, be warned. It has turned a few people off. :|

I tried every ship and unfortunately for them I've been with Goteki so long that other ships I am not as comfortable with. I find Assegai to be a little too jumpy for example and I tend to oversteer with it too much and crash on the inside wall of turns.

The game is locked at 60FPS and plays at 1080p 99% of the time (Vertical resolution will be dynamically lowered during high action moments in order to maintain 60FPS.)

It is the smoothest game I've ever played (on a console), period.

You also get a choice of HUD customization. There is one that is minimalist, the Wipeout 3 HUD. You would like it (Check out my video of Sebenco Climb Reverse for an example of it in action.)

Sometimes Youtube does weird things. I have an old TT of Karbonis that was smooth when uploaded. Now it's barely watchable. For some reason, this video has a bug on I believe it's the start of the fourth lap forward, where it lags just for a fraction of time, and look at it, really smooth on Youtube (except for that particular part.) Can't explain it.

then its a good choice from me to pick AGS. But i find Goteki 45 okay. Its fast, but the handling is so stiff.

AG Systems is good but on the smoother tracks it struggles to keep up with Phirana and the other faster ships, I find. Assegei and Mirage are both good all-rounders, but generally I pick a ship depending on the track/race type. IE - faster ships tend to lack handling so are only really good on the wide open tracks. Hope this helps!

Want to race on the go, the PSP version is obviously the better choice.

Don't care for the limited portability but want the best graphics around? Get the PS3 version.

All three games are very good. I recommend you get them all if possible, as each has a slightly different driving experience, and for the PSP versions more tracks than the PS3 WipEout HD (If you get both of them.)

No, the different stats really mean nothing. I was just racing here because Fury was new and all but I've returned to the HD skin.

You can still win a race with any ship, all that matters is your piloting ability.

Man, I love WipEout. I bought HD and Fury at the same time, so I started playing with all the add-ons. My earliest WipEout memory is staying up till 4 in the morning trying to win the Classic Tournament on Rapier difficulty on WipEout Pure :-)

Um... yeah. I can't even complete the campaign on Novice. I've lost the final event in the 7th bracket (a tournament race) about eight times in at Rapier speeds. I'm just horrible at this. :(

I've played this game for five years, starting with PurE on the PSP when the console launched.

It took me a while to adapt at first as well. But once you get the hang of the airbrakes and how to use them, it gets really fun.

I recommend speed lap sessions on the track you have troubles with and at the correct speed class. Keep practising until you only scrape a few walls here and there during a lap. Once you achieve this, you are ready.

im trying to get a speed lap gold at flash on this course and the closest i can get is 29,50 (gold is 28) with harimau hitting all boost pads and using the turbo on the jump just like you, can you up a vid of you doing it in flash aswell so i can see wtf ive been doing wrong all this time, cuz ive been trying to get this medal for hours now ._. bleeh..

You should really watch the video this is in response to. Though made for Phantom Class, it helps really in any class.

Just be more "soft" with the steering in order to not oversteer on Flash, but follow the exact instructions provided in the video tutorial.

I prefer to use the Icaras as I've always been with it since Wip3out, quick, great handling and safely stays on track. I think that the Goteki can often boost you accidently into the sides of the track which I find it has done that to me plenty of times.

It reduces the handling of the Goteki when you hit a boost pad logically. Because it becomes hard to handle in a split-second, and that could affect the lap time if you were to hit a wall as a result of going too fast due to a boost pad.
