what a shame, i had a girlfriend that leaved there a long time before katrina,i have been in florida for 10 years it really shocked me not seen redwoods.
Worked in Kenner just after Katrina. Worked for the McMynes if any one knows them. I remember the Redwoods. And remember their demolition with complete aw. There was not enough damage not to repair. Just an opportunity to run a certain
ethnic group out of a predominate white area. I live near Flint MI. There are buildings in alot worst shape up here still standing.
I grew up in red wood appartments. It was a curse and a blessing to see it go. Too bad you didn't have any Pics before it was destroyed. Thank you for having that though. Now I have something to document the death of my childhood with. Trust me that is kinda a good thing.
Kenner is my place of last life i was born in Russia Moscow in 23 july 1983, but last minutes of my last life i spent in Kenner after PAN AM flight 759 crashed in 9 july 1982
my name was Glas or Glassy ,may be i was a girl and i traveled with sister or with girlfriend to Las vegas.
Can you show memorial of victims? i know it must be in Kenner.I so want to cheeck it up
Damn i miss my home, i lived in redwood too... been gone since way before Katrina... joined thr army, just waiting out to serve my time, then i am coming back
I've been back since I've joined the Army.... I was there last year, and saw all the trailors that were still left over..... I wanted to cry, all of what was Kenner was so different, and the rest of NOLA, coming back this summer before I go to Iraq....
I choose Kenner because I can not imagine living anywhere other than the New Orleans metro area. If you love the beach and can afford the cost of living go to Pensacola.
The last word from owner Howie Raymond is that the land willl probably be a "mixed-use" development, but that comment goes back to August 2006. He added then that it would be "a little while before we decide what to do."
The property covers several blocks of West Esplanade between Williams and Power boulevards.
yeah. there are alot of rumors going around. Hopefully they'll use it will. Im still betteing they're going to build the apts everyone is talking about.
I disagree. Decent people have always lived there. If the Redwood Apartments were your idea of a ghetto, you must be one fortunate individual to have never seen worse.
I considered removing it but believe in freedom of speech too much to do so. Let him stand by his statement. It's better to know where people stand. Don't you think? =)

Good riddance to that ghetto. It was a nice place to live in the 80's. The minorities destroyed it.

Redwood isn't the only change. Be prepared for a different city when you return. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
