brothers, how can we be one when the RCC has statues, has statues of Popes above Crosses, the way you face the clergy during mass, women on the alter, women wearing pants in church, priest not being able to wed for political reasons, its not biblical, etc the scism happened for a reason, once the RCC can see to reunite itself to the true church and be orthodox once more can we truly unite which I hope will happen, I hope this is allowed to be posted as this is an Orthodox view.

@ByzantineRuler I believe it can be done in similar fashion as has happened with Eastern Catholics, and now Anglicans coming into communion with Rome. Pope Benedict has strongly encouraged those in the Eastern Rite to return to their traditions in regards to liturgy. He has done the same thing with the Anglican Ordinariate recently. I pray for this result in the future. God Bless You!

@ByzantineRuler The church of Jerusalem had statues did it not? Did not the ark of the covenate have statues? We consider them holy Icons. It is just different practices of different rites. Priest in the Latin Rite almost never married since the very begging, and for 1054 years we found a way to be one. You can keep all your traditions as long as they don't contridict holy dogma, this is the Catholic view and we have many eastern rite churches, check out the Maronites.
