yea he cheated so he really aint gettin any worthwhile benefit but he's risking a very painful experience with bad form. if you hurt yourself doing these rows, you wont know for a day or two but when the pain sets in, its fucking excruciating. you will not be able to get comfortable in any postiion and you wont be able to sleep because of it. if you experience three days of this shit you will wish you were dead. dont do bent over rows without someone to keep you in form
Regardless of his form, just holding 405 with a with an underhand grip and cheating his way through the amount of reps he did, still requires a fuckload of strength. Not the best form, but definitely some crazy raw power. Respect bro.
Hey! You are a good lifter to have gained your current str but a friendly warning. This is not bent over rows, I really hope you dont train like this, its very dangerous. Best of luck in future training.
This one... his form got away from him a little, BUT the strength required to even cheat up the weight this amount is incredible, so have a little more respect. Anyone who lifts weights seriously would know.
Granted, if he was doing this with 225, yeah okay, he's some wimp trying to act tough. But this is 400 people, NO straps.
people dont realise what it takes to do that weight, even to unrack it with bent arms lol...you are very strong and i can understand how good that lift is, at 200kg there is no perfect form. very nice :)
Why do I constantly see meathead morons claiming bent over rows doin this? Why dont you check your ego and go do an "ARNOLD" bent over row, head level with waist standing on bench. Then wonder why your lats hurt the next day, moron, you just did trap rows or some crap.
Hahaha... this guy is in your head, u even commented callin him an asshol on his channel page... yea hes an asshole coz hes bigger n stronger than u could ever dream of being... n u cant handle it
To all those internet "experts" who offer me unsolicited advice, i will no longer be wasting my time responding to comments. If you want to offer me advice add me to facebook (see the link on the channel page) & that way we can see exactly who you are & the results of your training wisdom. I am not hiding who i am so unless you do the same i will know you have nothing & you are not worth listening to.
@getbig36 Basicly if u want Big Muscules this is definately one way to do it + this movement works better done like this than Slow motion in my opinion, since it is a mostly a whole body movement. And about hes Form, Hes Pulling towards the Lower Abs so I dont see why do u say this is a really bad form. Also I dont think he would be as big as he is if he would have pumped 40 kg barbell with zero body movement like u propably would advice ;).
Haha that is pretty funny. I have seen a load of guys use that excuse. I thought it was only me noticing it. Good idea not responding to shit. No matter what form you use, what equipment/lack of equipement you have, the weight you move, etc, etc, someone will discredit your lifting somehow, or compare you lifts to Ronnie Coleman. Bunch of ignorant assholes on youtube.
wow, most of you "form defenders" make me laught, i guess, you'll say, squating is dangerous, overhead pressing is bad for back, deadlift hurts lower back and has no carry over, etc, etc.
Pleasee!, he's one of the strongest man on the earth, and you're gonna tell him what good form is?, he obviouslly knows what he's doing
all u fucking uneducated pieces of shit viewing this video and posting negative crap have no fucking idea about powerlifters let alone strongman competition. this guy is currently Australias second strongest man so to say his 'form' is shit is a ridiculous statement. he didnt get there by doing things 'the wrong way' thats just his way. fucking stupid cunts
Your ROM is very limited in an almost upright position. You're dipping your chest 4 - 6 inches down on each rep (watch your chin)thereby giving the impression you're lifting the weight all the way up. A useless venture with high risk of injury. You'd be better off doing full ROM with weights you can handle and power shrugs to develop your traps.
Your grip is very impressive though, as are your bent over rows with 400/450 on another video.
the only impressive thing is that you held on to the weight. Kids don't try that at home. I feel like this should be a PSA for what not to do in a gym
lol anyone talking shit about his form obv dsnt kno anything about bodybuilding. its better 2 go heavy with bad form if u want 2 build mass. perfect form is for girls who are scared of getting injured.
I am a small dude.....only can do 205 with bentover rows, but i know what he is talking about. I have read that you have to start loosening up your form as you go heavier if you want to develop the most mass. I try to be super strict on all exercises but it limits you being able to raise the weight and/or reps with each each workout
just picking thatat weight up like that is impressive, but you have to admit that you are not really doing anything for development like that, jumping around and stuff.
As u correctly point out its what development u get from the exercise that really matters. I know what results i have gotten before when i used to think like you and then after i started training this way. What i can tell you is that when i started training like this my lats grew heaps, so much so that i still have the stretch marks on my LATS. Also i knew my lats were doing most of the work cause they would be so sore for days after.
Thank u 4 your comments. Sorry but i respectfully disagree. Rev/grip rows done WITHOUT straps become harder cause the grip becomes an issue. Most ppl have a naturally stronger grip in the o/hand position than in the rev/grip. When staps are used this no longer an issue & some people may find them easier.
(Continued)....But also keep in mind that most people do shorter range reps & stand more upright when doing rev/grip rows making them feel easier than doing the same weight overhand style. Rev/grip rows seem to lend themselves mechanically more more naturally to shorter reps & standing more upright.
To all those sooks who said im not bent over enough ect....ive posted a video response where i am using straps & conventional grip... i probably have increased strength slightly but the straps/grip alone makes a big difference. Im sure there will still be nit picking and jealousy however.
you doin it good man. Its very good with overhand grip and no staps. All this idiots that talikn shit about your form, dont no a shit about bodybuilding and are jolus. so keep up the good work dude
I'm not jealous of a reverse grip (which makes it easier) partial shrug movement. That's not a row. If you slow the video down he's bending his head forward on every movement to make it look like a row. What he is a doing is a partial shrug / drag curl. That is not a row, and I'm not jealous of his wanna-be Steven Segal harido either. Shirt's too tight too.
Whoregay...LOL....your an absolute dipshit....reverse grip (palms facing forward) is HARDER when you do it with no straps. See my new video with overhand grip & straps....of course im sure you will still have SOMETHING to criticize.
Thanks Superman1987kk & mc 1703. These guys have no idea wat its like even holding onto 400 lbs with reverse grip (plams forwward). I did the reps are shorter coz if u staighten your arms fully in that grip the weight will roll out of your hands....when you arms are straightend that is the weakest (grip) position for when in that grip.
I know that it most be very havy. This guy dont understand it.. Thay think that its just ONE way to train.. You rows is almost like Yats row. Again very good! The most I have rowed is just 352 lbs. With straps and normal grip. And that was sooo havy.. So you are one of the srongest guy out there. keep up the good job.
he's clearly getting results. If any one here wants to post a 400lb bent over row with perfect form and a 1 up 2 down count as a response to this, I'm sure CBA20061 would appreciate your input. otherwise grow up.
Getting results doesn't mean anything. He may be doing other exercises correctly. And I'm not gonna say people have to go 1 up 2 down on Rows. However, your torso should almost be parallel to the ground. Barbell Row = reverse Bench Press
Actually, Ronnie Coleman did use textbook form when he wasa a little younger. Less so now, but here is a textbook 495lb bent row, no mini-reps just a little swing and full stretch. youtube/watch?v=whIWtEw3MtY
All you form fanatics obviously havent seen the likes of Branch Warren, Ronnie Coleman, Jonnie Jackson and many others, none of them use textbook form on almost any excercise. You will also notice i am doing the excercise with no straps and an underhand grip which makes it extremely hard to hold onto let alone worrying abot doing perfect form with slower controlled reps. Using the overhand grip and staps i can do much better form but then i just use more weight cause im not anal about form.
What works for the genetically elite and drug assisted will not necessarily work for the normal person. You may be an exception, nonetheless, this is a bad example to set. And you are weaker than someone who can row 400lbs strict.
And what's the purpose of the underhand grip? You're not rowing you're doing something resembling a partial reverse clean! You're muscles are missing out on their potential dude...
What the fuck dude, learn exercise form, I doubt you're capable of a real 400lb row, jesus that was one of the worst things I've ever seen. Keep doing it that way and you're gonna hurt your back one day, and you won't be nearly as strong as the guys doing 400 x 5 strict.
LOL....i certainly hope that is not you in your video... you look like you have never touched a weight in your life. If i want advice on how 2 be a try hard white rapper ill come talk 2 u ok ;)
Sorry but THIS vid is pretty bad.... Saw another one by him that was MUCH better so he would probably agree.
