actually, here in britain we play baseball too, and we dont use the gloves, its physics you see, most things you catch, if caught properly, will not hurt your hand no matter the speed or weight, the only way you're gonna hurt yourself is if you catch it wrong.

whoever said such a thing hasnt made the country look stupid, they where probably just pointing out that there isnt any need for the glove as most people over here choose not to use them.

@leehinc your right. i cant tell you how many times ive causght the ball with a glove and it hurts if it hits the bone just below your index finger. gloves dont matter. the reason for it is the baseball glove is designed to catch quickly and throw to get a batter out. also, sometimes bunted balls roll, and the poch makes it easier. same with fly balls.
