i actually really liked vista. i didnt trust it to run on desktop pcs but all my laptops recently in our house have been vistas. although ive bought into windows 7 on a new pc and i will say hands down that windows 7 is a huge improvement on vista. just the way it communicates with the hardwear to make the entire machine faster is worthe the upgrade price alone

Second, Microsoft had Comm. Prom. since OS/2. Apple eschewed a command-line interface in versions 1 through 9 of the Mac operating system, but finally gave in and added Terminal to provide access to Mac OS X's powerful Unix underpinnings. My point is that Microsoft had that before Apple.
I do admit that what you listed is pretty important too, but I think that it's about 50-50.
It is. Windows main strength is security, which is the Mac's main weakness. But Mac's main strength is simplicity & speed. Then again, Windows is up-to date with the latest hardware & software. If you're talking about copying, Windows made their own kernel, implemented their own security features, coded their own OS and make their own service packs.

256-bit is not likely to be compatible with the current 64-bit processors. If MSFT was developing a 256-bit OS, Intel and AMD would have to develop 256-bit processors that are compatible with the 256-bit OS. And in this economy, Intel lost 90% of its profits and AMD is losing money on a 2-year period. And who wants to buy new PCs?
The reason why MSFT keeps most of the 128-bit thing secret is because they don't want Apple to know. It's like giving your secret positions to the enemy during a war. That forces Apple to guess or to do nothing about it. The result is that Apple will stay 1 large step behind MSFT. If Apple guessed, Apple would likely be wrong and Windows is the standard.

mac has some good features but honestly, i have leopard and vista dual boot, and i almost always use vista. i haven't had any problems whatsoever with vista yet so i don't know why it gets so much critecisim.

Almost every game in existance is coded to run on the windows platform. And don't say "My mac can also run windows" because it defeats the purpose of the mac, and if you're running windows on a mac you are simply wasting money since mac's cost significantly more than pc's.

Uh, every thing shown in this video has been possible on a mac for years including the "instant" search (which is by no means "instant"), Windows Flip (which is a terrible way to view all your open windows compared to how a mac does it), window preview in the taskbar (the dock on a mac), Media Center (called front row on a mac), the document preview (cover flow), gadgets ( Widgets), and Widows photo gallery (iPhoto on a mac). The mac had all of that before windows, and does it much better.

Even when you only use Windows for gaming you still have to deal with viruses, registry errors, bloat, and an OS that hogs your cpu and RAM. When enough people switch to the mac, developers will start making games for OSX, and without your little games, windows is nothing but shit you have to troubleshoot.
I agree. Mac has SO MUCH potential, and it's already reached most of it. Aside from OS, Mac Pros are the fastest personal computers in the world. I have one, and it's up and running Leopard AND Vista, with beautiful speed and functionality. People should BACK OFF and give mac a chance to show its stuff.
Vista won't go a day without crashing your programs. Not only that, it consumes too many resources. Plus they copied Macs design. Pretty interface tho' I can't even play some of the mp3 CDs I wrote on XP, they r just blanks

I've used both macs and Vista and linux linux is the clear winner, I prefer Vista because it's more secure and generally runs quite well especially when you download the apps that makes windows complete.
believe me, this is no hardware problem! i've tried it on three computers with vista and there's nothing, tho' i can see my files in XP. And do you ever get the report "Windows explorer has stopped working" or your working on a program and it suddenly hangs and starts shutting down. btw, i have sp1, i thot that would solve the problem. i don't think vista is bad, it's just that even when xp came out, there weren't many such problems.
OpenGL wins for the sake that is completely cross-platform. I do not care what computer n33bs have (although I hope they have macs so they do not get emotional damage from a blue screen while I p3wn them). I just want to play and work with other people regardless of platform.... and the mac is hands down winner for this
I had an extremely expensive dell xps with vista and i had it crash about once a week. i now have a macbook pro and I LOVE IT! my favorite computer ever. i dont detest vista however for the normal person who doesnt have the computer skills to upgrade i think a mac is a good choice. Im only 16 and this is only my secon comp but we will see, maybe my oppinion will change in the future

There's always some idiot who makes a statement like this. The simple fact is a Mac is a PC. The hardware is the almost identical. You can quite happy install Windows on a Mac Intel. And, if you're willing to spend the same money on a PC as you spend on a Mac you'll likely end up with an equivalent, if not better spec'd and stable system.

Macs are not fully compatible with ASLR, a security technique. Windows is secure by development, Macs are secure because of the OS market.

mac has some good features but honestly, i have leopard and vista dual boot, and i almost always use vista. i haven't had any problems whatsoever with vista yet so i don't know why it gets so much critecisim.

Almost every game in existance is coded to run on the windows platform. And don't say "My mac can also run windows" because it defeats the purpose of the mac, and if you're running windows on a mac you are simply wasting money since mac's cost significantly more than pc's.

I am a PC user and i can say that Mac can run any game because Mac has the option to run windows os in there own operating system there for they can run window games.
But the only thing that i seen that mac lacks is being able to use high powered gaming cards past 8800 gts Nvidia

The 5 or 6 games I listed are those I have at home, but trust me there much more. And, I was talking about the BOX, or the BUILDING PCs have next to their monitors. And I said it could smash the monitor if it was pushed. I care about the wires. Do you prefer to have ALL-IN-ONE or to have to connect your computer to your BOX, your webcam, etc.

Uh, every thing shown in this video has been possible on a mac for years including the "instant" search (which is by no means "instant"), Windows Flip (which is a terrible way to view all your open windows compared to how a mac does it), window preview in the taskbar (the dock on a mac), Media Center (called front row on a mac), the document preview (cover flow), gadgets ( Widgets), and Widows photo gallery (iPhoto on a mac). The mac had all of that before windows, and does it much better.

Vista is a copy of Tiger, not even half as good as Leopard (except for gaming). Apple has had all these things since OSX Panther.
3D Viewer=expose. Expose is so much better because you can touch a corner to activate it, and there are many different kinds
the apple tab has been around since dinosaurs time.
Oh, and don't even get me started on Viruses. Mac and Linux have some viruses but not as many as PC. also with crossover or darwine(darwine the free app) can run windows apps on the mac!

The only thing vista is good for is gaming, and that's only because the game developers keep developing for it.
Even when you only use Windows for gaming you still have to deal with viruses, registry errors, bloat, and an OS that hogs your cpu and RAM. When enough people switch to the mac, developers will start making games for OSX, and without your little games, windows is nothing but shit you have to troubleshoot.

I agree. Mac has SO MUCH potential, and it's already reached most of it. Aside from OS, Mac Pros are the fastest personal computers in the world. I have one, and it's up and running Leopard AND Vista, with beautiful speed and functionality. People should BACK OFF and give mac a chance to show its stuff.

Vista won't go a day without crashing your programs. Not only that, it consumes too many resources. Plus they copied Macs design. Pretty interface tho' I can't even play some of the mp3 CDs I wrote on XP, they r just blanks

I've used both macs and Vista and linux linux is the clear winner, I prefer Vista because it's more secure and generally runs quite well especially when you download the apps that makes windows complete.

believe me, this is no hardware problem! i've tried it on three computers with vista and there's nothing, tho' i can see my files in XP. And do you ever get the report "Windows explorer has stopped working" or your working on a program and it suddenly hangs and starts shutting down. btw, i have sp1, i thot that would solve the problem. i don't think vista is bad, it's just that even when xp came out, there weren't many such problems.

I had an extremely expensive dell xps with vista and i had it crash about once a week. i now have a macbook pro and I LOVE IT! my favorite computer ever. i dont detest vista however for the normal person who doesnt have the computer skills to upgrade i think a mac is a good choice. Im only 16 and this is only my secon comp but we will see, maybe my oppinion will change in the future

There's always some idiot who makes a statement like this. The simple fact is a Mac is a PC. The hardware is the almost identical. You can quite happy install Windows on a Mac Intel. And, if you're willing to spend the same money on a PC as you spend on a Mac you'll likely end up with an equivalent, if not better spec'd and stable system.

Wrong. I run Vista, and I've got lots of experiences with Macs. I am not a Vista hater, nor a Windows hater, but I don't particularly care for Vista. The reason Best Buy works all say that Vista sells better is because it's true. Vista does sell better. But it has nothing to do with stability or trust. It has to do with price.
