on a starter bike get a cheap dirt bike before you get a street bike ride it like every weekend for a year and then buy a street bike, buy what you want to buy dont listen to pepole saying buy a 250 there shit and you look stupid or a 500 UNLESS you live in twisty turny rodes then there cool but if you live in the us DONT BUY A 250,500 THEY SUCK
@tank5617 dude you have no idea what youre talking about. have you ever owned a good 250? I have a Ninja 250 now trying to get a Katana 600. The 250 handles any road easily. Yeah, I dont race it cuz thats not what its meant for. I pass anyone on the highway, I hit 100 mph easily. 250s are perfectly good bikes. I agree with 500s tho, they r a waste of money... get a 250 or a 600
@bubes29 yea for a week an 05 it was shit my dirt bike was faster in the dirt and 100 yea the factory speedo may say your doing 100 your really doin 92 or sumthini around those lines so next time dont be a internet warrior
but i am glad i went with the ninja 500 for a starter bike. such a good starter!! I'd suggest getting the cog bones that raise the back end of the bike cause your tall like i am. they also make the bike look better.. u can see the hole back wheel with them in.. more sporty looking.. also handle a bit better..

@bmetstud im 6'4 and my buddy has a katana.. ive rode it before.. it feels so nice.. they are heavy as hell at first but im used to my little ninja ex500... with raised dog bones.. but might upgrade to katana this spring.. so nice to ride compared to mine.
really... no kidding. I was even thinking about getting a 500 so i can learn how to drag some knees before I get on up in the HP. I really like the katana's too. Thanks a lot, ride safe. later
@bmetstud Im actually looking at a gsx650f now!! they are the new katana.. sooo sexy :) and big to they would suit us tall guys for sure.. plus they look more like the gxsr :)
i have the same bike with the same exhaust. man its a huge improvement over the stock exhaust. its loud and thoaty. you can here it for about 1 mile or more.
