The reason for the existence of God is a simple one. To do with defining the purpose of all endeavour. Since volition is essentially self centred & our environment is populated by billions of life forms that have the same independent self centred volition, something outside of this volition has to be instilled in it that regulates the extent & rate to which it can physically impede on the existence of others in pursuit of its endeavours. Involves the mechanism of laws that are not ego friendly.
Also, genetically manipulated food cannot lead to diseases that are related to the DNA itself. DNA of everything we eat is degraded in our system to nucleotides. Now it is a different question whether the DNA causes changes in the organism in ways that it can harm us. But then you wouldn't eat naturally poisonous plants either.
@bf2spurgu well maybe the effects arent noticable very fast, maybe it takes generations? just an arguement haha. And yeh he has a very open mind which is whats important when dealing with this type of information. you cant be prejeduce to information, just gotta be able to cut out the bullshit :)
