  • This piece, despite its sorrowful character, captures all that is unique about a humans ability to express emotion through music.

  • -One of the great masterworks of all time, played by skilled organist.

  • Awesome

  • What is happening at 2:30?

  • @rjijmker: funny sound, it sounds like a Wurtlitzer... anyone?

  • @mirax83 I guess, it's two recordings melted together at that point...

  • good muke

  • I cannot listen to this piece of music without crying. It has followed me for some forty years. The beauty is unbelievable. Fantastic skill by this organist.

  • @glomph I agree with you. I happen to like Durufle, but his Prelude et Fugue sur le nom d'A.L.A.I.N. touches eternity. God was with Durufle when he composed this.

  • Incredible sovereign playing. Its a pleasure to see his motions and hear his interpretation!

  • Ugh! I'm breathless!!!! God, and SO effortless!

  • Effortless - but with raw power behind it - see how he pushes the console around on the last pedal run. Very well done.

  • M. Robin understands what he is playing and, because he does, so do we.

  • Drôle la rehausse des lunettes pendant l'enoncé de la fugue...!

A part ca, il a vraiment la classse.

  • One of the greatest pieces ever written!

  • Very good interpretation, very close to Eric Lebrun's at the Eglise des Quinze-Vingts in Paris, a Cavaillé-Coll organ, in a Naxos record. Good tempo, neither too fast nor too fast, Robin is in the great tradition of French organists, great !

  • I heard that piece from Philipe Lefebvre. It was beautiful. His playing is made me remember to Robert's. Thanks for the video (I sorry my english is bad)

  • Who were Robin's teachers?

  • Marie-Claire ALAIN, Olivier LATRY, Michel BOUVARD et Louis ROBILLIARD for organ, Jean-François ZYGEL and Marc-André DALBAVIE for composition

  • 1st class MORON

  • another 1st class MORON

  • I agree also never heard this played so well even on a recording . He was enjoying the music also.look at his face during the performance.

  • The ultimate performance of Maurice Duruflé's fugue on the worldwide web.You simply can't get it better than this!

  • I must agree, a superb performance. Robin captures the beauty of this fugue, both sad and defiant at the same time.
