Guys i hope you read up about the lap times between lowndes and button, lowndes was only a few seconds behind the world champion button, lowndes never became anything in open wheel because it was early in his racing career when he was relatively new.
brock, johnson, skaife, ambrose, whincup... jensen is world class, those of you who think lowndes could even be remotely competitive in an f1 (at any stage in his career) are clearly delusional, there is a massive difference between our v8 drivers and the f1 elite.
there is no way you can compare craig lowndes to jensen button. lets be serious guys if lowndes was any good he would have made it when he raced in europe. what happened? he was team mates with juan pablo montoya, montoya destroyed lowndes (as did the majority of the field) and he returned home to race at hrt again. now lowndes is a great driver (obviously past his best but great none the least), but i highly doubt he is even top 3 of the best to come out of australia. brabham, jones, webber....
Ok seem like you know everything so better leave you alone, Guess Jenson buttons comments also support mine, guess he knows nothing also, he is a world champion but guess that also means nothing.
Monaco, not a long straight like bathurst.
Its not a convex country road for water runoff,
Monaco has gutters and drains a little more than bathurst....
Singapore yeah that just like bathurst isnt it? NO its FLAT.
If you missed the reason why the F1 could get to speed was the track is green and ROUND!
@LetzHaveALook what the fuck was the point of your post? All of of what you said was obvious to everyone. There wasn't even an argument or point you attempted to make with that..
@LetzHaveALook for one thing, i have walked every little step of Bathurst. its definately NOT an actual road surface, even though for the rest of the year its used for races and general public, i can assure you its no normal asphalt
It was also stated that the F1 car was set at its highest setting height wise to clear the nose/rear for going through the dipper. Thus not allowing high speeds by the F1 car.
i agree with @lemon0Tart you dont really make a point.
@Weaponpc He may know the track layout, but probably wouldn't be too familiar with braking and turn in points. If they both drove the exact same car, that neither had driven before, I'm sure Lowndes would go faster. I remember watching a video where Jenson said he just couldn't get used to the track. Every time he though he delayed turning in, and started doing so, he realised that halfway through that he started turning way to early. That's the kind of stuff Craig would do with absolute ease.

My Opinion for what its worth,
Lowndes has done how many lapes more than a thousand, around here.
The road is a ROAD not a race track the F1 isnt made for round roads.
The V8 Supercar is...
Craig did a ripper lap that would be expected here as he is a great driver, and one of the best ever for this track.
Jenson is also a quick driver and obviously better with a F1 as he races one for a living.
The F1 needs rubbered in circuit and also speed for grip, faster the F1 goes the more grip made

dont forget that Lowndsey knows this track like the back of his hand!

I wanna see Webber in his own car doing that...sorry Lowndsey, but the term "wipe the floor" comes to mind.

@Weaponpc there would be something wrong if Webber didnt go faster than Lowndes

@80sLandcruiser if they'd driven with the exact same car that neither had driven and he knows the layout, of course he'll be quicker -.-
BrandzF1 5 months ago 2
@BrandzF1 That's my point. So basically, you're just re-iterating that Jenson was only quicker because of the car?
Of course he would be. That would've been guaranteed.

@80sLandcruiser well i didnt even think you were debating that, that's stupidly obvious
