  • Looks like Jesus playing a flugelhorn....

  • @BCH37501 sounds like it too

  • Man, Geissman is such a tank. What an underrated guitarist!!

  • @grantytyta u would think that Grant would think of a better theme for 2 and a half man.

  • The Drop kicked me off my Chair.

  • Since when does he play on a megatone?

  • Mega lo mart :)

  • Don't he live in Mega lo mart :)

  • I Love his musik .

    Gracie Chuck.

  • Princess Leia friggin ROCKS the Soprano Sax at 7:20. Between her and South Park's Jesus on flugelhorn, this is one hell of a show.

  • @RickNCN8093 LMAO. Agreed.

  • 0:39 I jizzed.

  • Me gusta.

  • Chuck Mangione valorizza appieno la voce calda e corposa del flicorno soprano uno strumento meraviglioso.

  • these guys jam so fuckin hard

  • @rodcrippler As phrased by my director (since we will be playing an arrangement of this in a band I'm in), the Flugelhorn has a mellower sound compared to the trumpet.

  • Why sign a petition ,just get some chinatown hakers done

  • This is a fantastic song

  • This is a standard! A classic! Amazing!

  • btw, what's the difference between the flugelhorn and the trumpet?

  • @rodcrippler one is conical, and the other is cylidrical. Which means the piping stays the same the entire way through until the end where the bell flares out. Compared to the other one, the bore gets larger as the instrument gets longer. Much like a tuba compared to a trombone. Flugel gives a much darker and rich sound, which trumpet gives off a much more brighter texture.

  • @dylannoble92 like: trumpet is louder, but flugelhorn is more layered??? I guess you can hear it when comparing Chet Baker to Wynton Marsalis or rturo Sandoval:

  • Antoni Quin, Familia en Mexico, 80's

  • I love this and have it in my player often. I "mood dance" to the long version and recommend it to my friends. Dance out the tears, the joy, the hope and come away healed by the wonderful music of Chuck Mangione....Camille

  • That is not a trumpet that is a bugle

  • @ladywolfhaven no, that is a flugelhorn, not a bugle

  • @868hbl5 No, it's a buglehorn! Ha ha Jk it is indeed a fluglehorn.

  • @868hbl5 I've always learned that Flügelhorn is the german name of bugle (also in english with "u" for the german "ü") ... what's the difference between these two instruments ? If found no differences ... even in the website of bugle fabricant manufacturer ...

  • omg.. he plays that trumpet like a champ.

  • geil!!!!!!

  • Gasm

  • Most likely version, Chuck, and all the others!!!

  • La buena musica no tiene modas ni tiempo, es buena y punto

  • Apparently 31 people didn't feel so good. . .

  • Cuando manejo en carretera en Mexico o en el free way en USA me gusta escuchar esta cancion a todo volumen en mi carro, se oye de poca

  • It's about time he did somthing useful with his life.

  • I bought the Live at The Hollywood Bowl double album, and this one's is probably only 20% of that beautiful performance.

  • @MrHanif61 I had that album a long time ago..and i agree with what you say.

  • There has never been anyone else who writes this kind of music like Chuck Mangione did, so exciting and powerful. It's jazz but drives like rock, remembering the days when this came out, it was and still is so amazing.

  • MAM TO NA PODWÓJNYM LONGPLAYU ANALOGOWYM...POEZJA...

  • holy crap that was an amazing solo

  • i so love chuck mangione since i was a young high school stude

what's nice about him is that he's not selfish, he gives chance to other talented musicians like him...awesome

  • i so love chuck mangione since i was a young high school stude

  • Did anyone else notice the incredible shred on that guitar? It takes a talented leader to share the stage front with other talented musicians And allow them the spotlight.

  • 28 people are the children of nobody...

  • @kennkennchong, this is real music , real hardworking musicians , not lagy gaga or justin bullshit.

  • @MrKennkenn

Why does pop get so much hate? So what if they aren't "hardworking musicians"? It's meant to be fun. Guys like you need to chill out and just be more open.

I'm open. I like everything. Rap, hip hop, pop, rock, jazz, swing, blues, punk, and every form of metal, techno... everything.

  • Can you believe I still have the album and still play it periodically on the record player. The lullaby is so touching.

  • @satisfyingyoursearch I have the "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" I'm on my third copy. Love love love and there has never been anyone else in all these years that compares to what Mangione did. Amazing music! I still listen to it in my car.

  • @musicmanro Yeah, and he's AN AMAZING TEACHER!

  • @musicmanro

    Yes

  • sounds like 70s tv show

  • This high quality music is gone forever. Now music is no more than rubbish.

    Art is dead.

See the video in 911missinglinks(com) for the truth.

  • @jewishcrimenetwork Good for you.

  • I heard this (Live at the Hollywood bowl album, "Evening of Magic")) on four floor speakers 100 watt stereo amp, a Dynamic range expander and equalizer and shaped the music so it was just right. Then I turned the volume up and this sounded fantastic; powerful and clear. His horn was magnificent.

  • Man this song is so frekin good i love it man chuck keep it up your are so good :)

  • Thanks for posting this! LOVE the song - fell in love with it the first time I heard it back in the '80s - when a co-worker lent me the album. Of course, my last name is "Sanchez" - so another great reason to love this.

  • Eastman School of Music Rochester, NY!!!!!

  • Dang, I used play this back in High school, it was really fun. =) Listening to the trumpet solo, it rocked. Especially at the beginning.

  • This is kind of a bland dorian melody-- with lots of sustained notes. That in itself is just fine, but I think the arrangement is especially lacking in that many times the music cries out for background fills during these sustained events and that never happens (ie: opening tryp. solo). I do like the bridge much better--with the stepwise melodic movement; it's far more active harmonically (it is also not dorain). Anyway, nicely performed by all, with an especially interesting guitar solo.

  • @callmeBe ok, except for the fact that it's not dorian at all, it's harmonic minor

  • @clcsuperstar, thank-you for your kind correction--someone is REALLY listening! My appologies . . .

  • I like this!

  • Ron Jeremy plays a mean soprano sax @7:18

  • @kenbenobi You're an ass.

  • @jklighthouse - Sorry? I thought he looked more like Ron Jeremy than Princess Leia as someone else pointed out.

  • @kenbenobi Actually, that is Chris Vadalla, a very accomplished multi instrumentalist. C'mon man! Respect!

  • I went to his concert a few years ago (2007), he still sounds spectacular!

  • thumbs up if you are here becdause of King Of The Hill

  • @HIVisaLIE you are a very rude and inconsiderate person. didnt your mama ever tell you if you aint got something nice to say dont say anything at all

  • good song!

  • @phillyslasher You said, "Princess Leah DOMINATED that Soprano Sax. Incredible solo. . . "

    Very funny, and very true!

  • Nusica Maravillosa !!! exelente y calidad

  • senor jesus playing the trumpet = chuck mangione

  • @pwnterz No, Maynard Ferguson was better

  • @silfner1 Different instrument....and Maynard was the Van Halen of trumpet, no doubt...The Flugelhorn is softer..more mellow....Sometimes Maynard "over-played"

  • @mjw9363 I realize they are different instruments. But still, any trumpet player could play a flugelhorn just like any flugelhorn player can play a trumpet, so that's where my comparison came in.

  • @silfner1 yea. i play trumpet and was asked to play the flugelhorn. its not different at all

  • @lampboy2 I would actually contest that they're "not different at all." Yes, the key is the same, and the fingerings are the same, but that's about it. The tone concept for flugelhorn is completely different from trumpet--too many trumpet players play the flugelhorn exactly like they do the trumpet, and the tone they get out of it sounds more or less like a trumpet. Mangione's tone stands out as one of the best examples of real flugelhorn tone.

  • @silfner1 the flugel horn has a minor change in sound and different body but played exactly the same as trumpet

  • @pwnterz not a trumpet...it's a flugelhorn

  • I have high praises for steve gadd one of the best drummers still! but in this video it's not him : )

  • I played this in my Jazz band last year, the other week, I was playing my guitar and start strumming the beginning bassline lick. I'm now making a heavy metal version of this song. Why? Cause I want to.

  • @jeleopard i'd kinda like to hear that...

  • @nyxdarkness1

So does everyone in my jazz band XD

  • this is so spicy

  • I wanted to hear the original, because my bands performing four of Chuck Mangione's songs. This one, Feel so good, Land of Make Believe and Bella I think. But yeah hearing this amazing musician I can see why we are using his music.

  • LOL ITS FUNNI WEN HE'S JUMPING UP AND DOWN AT THE END....I LOVE THAT PART!!!!!

  • es gratificante que haya gente que tenga tantyo talento y lo comparta con los demás... que buenisima banda, que bunisimo arreglo... que filling!!!!!!!

  • im playing this in jazz band. 1st trumpet..it is realllly fun to play!

  • @xsk8rx13 heck yeah it is! awesome solo!

  • I love Chuck Mangione!

  • @thezblah That's a Flugelhorn.

  • Perfection! Skilled Musician. Yet he should not be compared to Jesus. No human can compare with JesusChrist.

  • @belladonna379 then good thing chuck mangione isn't human

  • CHUCK... GORGEOUS...

  • I love every bit of his music, especially the live recording of him at the Hollywood Bowl, that's a lot of years ago, but his music stays in my soul.

  • My jazz combo plays a simplified version of this song, we call it Dirty Sanchez Peanut Butter Moostache

  • great work by princess leia on the soprano sax

  • My marching band is doing this song for our show along with lots of other Chuck Mangione classics, but I might be able to play his solo at 0:40 :D
