I don't remember a few of those moves, like Pai's straight-legged kick while descending and Jeffry's face-grab/multiple knee-to-the-face. I suppose those were some of the more obscure special moves, like a few of Akira's punch/kick combos and Akira's knee. In any case, thanks for the post. I never played Jeffry and Pai enough to learn them I guess.
This game has made me laugh so many times. It as a great game, but you could also do such funny stuff with it. If you would let a character win, and would manage to let it stand on the edge of the platform (their back facing the outside), some characters did a step back when winning, and they would fall backwards, and it would go like 'WINNNER!!!' and then you saw then falling and laying knock out on the floor. man, that was hilarious!
Omg you're right. Its nothing like I remember. I see this game again after more than 10 years, and it's looking different than to the time, when i played it. I love this game <3
I remember when this first came out in arcades it was £1 per game, whereas everything else was 30p, probably due to the revolutionary 3d graphics at the time.
How the hell do I do the knee attack with Akira? I mannaged to do it a few times quiet accidentally and I can't fighure out what the way to do it on the keyboard.
The thing I like most about this game, is that Sega went a totally different direction with it. While SNK, Data east, and a bunch of others were trying to cash in on SFII's sucess, Sega said "Hey, what if we took the fighter genre to the next dimension, literally." With that they made a 3D game with a whole different perspective from SF. 3-uttons, high and low attack sequences, and the first game to have RING OUTs. VF set the standard for 3D like SF did for 2D. Respect the Virtua ppl.
