Do you ever catch white sea bass in July? what are the prime months for white sea bass fishing?

@davidswerdlow July is a slow month for WSB. Feb to June are good time to fish for them. For me March and June tops them all.WSB will be back again around Oct-Nov.

Go to La Jolla boat launch and you will see 25-50 kayaks on the beach going out fishing that's the place. When you get on the water just follow any kayaks around they will lead you to the fish bite.

alright j-ceviche is back in action!!! good 2 see u uploading vids again. and that wsb is a monster of a croaker!!! do u ever fish during the grunion runs? i was at la jolla shores last night to watch the grunion run and it looks like it would awesome to fish during that time.

around here, in DFG SO CAL DISTRICT, a WHITE SEABASS has to be atleast 28" to be of legal size to keep.

Johnny, Why not do a video on how you rig up your rods? I know you use a sabiki for getting the bait, but then what? I would like to know they type of rod/reel combo you use, as well as the lb test of the line. Keep up the good work.

lewbeachbob, My favorite combo set for the type of fishing that I do is the same set up shown on this video. Shimano TLD20 lever drag single speed loaded with 30LB main line monofilament, swivel then40LB fluorocarbon leader a 2/0 Gorilla hooks by Owner. NO Sinker FLY LINE. The rod is Calstar GFGR700M. These same set up have landed Thresher Sharks over 100 pounds.

I'm using a sony DCR-HC96 minicam with a helmet cam attachment. I've made a camera mount that fits right on the rod holder.
