  • Amazing quality.

  • is it only me that noticed that the symbol man in the first block dint have a belt and 1 guy came outta time and ran to sort out lol good apart from them hickups lol!

  • @dollop7995

The cymbalist WAS wearing his white buff belt!

It's just that you can't see it because he's wearing a protective red apron over his tunic. The same goes for all tuba, euphonium, saxophone, bass drum and bassoon players due to constant contact of the instrument against the chest.

As for the running soldier, he had just run from behind the column to provide the escort for the officer. That's why he's holding his rifle differently from the others; he then later slopes arms.

  • @emptyangel

It should be noted that all soldiers are inspected before they go on parade, i.e., they wouldn't have been allowed to go on parade if something were missing or off.

  • What happened at 0.53? Did the escort on the right (screen left) almost stumble? How unBritish!

  • @bill1745

No, he had just run from behind the column and slows down to a shuffle so that he can get back in step.

The reason why the other escort did not have to run is because they were going round a corner.

  • how often do they change them?

  • @Clayton28

Everyday in the summer and every other day during winter.

  • Thank you so much for sharing the music. Great job, keep it coming. I look forward to seeing more of your great work [and the musos]

  • Haha, When I'm 64!

  • Would this photo-journalist be the Mum of WindsorSoldiers? Same type of camera and action shots....AND, I noticed our favorite Constable in the lead , or along the parade route. Judging by the shadows--it must have all occurred around 8 a.m. while the kiddies were in school The two of you should sell these vids on-line

  • CandH001 and windsorsoldiers are two totally different persons and are not related at all.

  • Also, I would like to point out that the editing done by CandH001 is far better than windsorsoldiers.

He recorded over the course of a couple of days and rather skilfully stitched the footage together.

  • For instance, the footage taken inside the Quadrangle is from another day from the ones taken on the streets.

  • Right, one more thing, our 'favourite constable' doesn't wear spectacles!

  • They guard the Royal palaces and Windsor Castle, whether the Queen etc. is in residence, or not. It is ceremonial but having a uniformed presence will deter intruders and the soldiers would definitely react. All are regular soldiers and various Army/RAF/Commonwealth units also take their turn. Armed Police (SO14) provide the main protection for Royal residences, you can see them in many of these videos at the main entrances, as the new/old guard marches past.

  • Why even post that?

  • Some of these places aren't just residences for the royals but also offices of high level political figures and command grade officers of the armed forces.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the Queen's Guard is mounted only at the Sovereign's Palaces.

  • Same with Royalty Protection (SO14).

  • I think the Queen's Guard is the name given to soldiers charged with protecting the Royal Palaces.

From 1783 to 1973 the Foot Guards provided a nightly detachment for guard duty at the Bank of England, for which I don' t think they were styled as the Queen's Guard.

  • Very nicely done. A shame that the band is facing away from the camera when playing Bond of Friendship and that the march ended prematurely.

I first heard this march played by the Band of the Scots Guards at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY and immediately like it. It was also played, in its entirety, at the beginning of the huge 1981 military band show at Wembley Stadium.

  • Marches: Guards Armoured Division, The Contemptibles and The Guardsman.

Windsorsoldiers, indeed, on the first part of the video it is the Senior Drum Major Tony Moors, Grenadier Guards. The other day it is a Welsh Guardsman, presumable Drum Major Steve O'Brien.

In the Quadrangle, the quick march on entering is one of Kenneth Alford, but I cant' remember the name. damn.

  • The band enter the quadrangle to 'Bond of Friendship' (by Rogan not Alford).

  • Comment removed

  • Ha Funilly Enough these cant be on the same day.. when going on the grass its a different Drum Major for the Welsh guards!!! Watch In HQ and Full Screen.

  • Yep! You're right, the Basoon player and one of the Clarinet players change from the Irish Guards to the Welsh Guards.

    :D

  • Some continuity issues were just out of my control

  • HA .... Nice one :D

  • Awesome video!

You're like windsorsoldiers but you actually follow the ceremony into Windsor Castle. :D
