The Producers (as the writers) of Smalville have taken some liberties with the Superman legend. Clark and Lana are not meant to be together, well not long term anyway.

So then why have they persisted with the storyline when we all know it is Lois that Clark eventually falls for!!!

Lana has changed a lot this season. Like her new short hair do to which is shocking cu lana never changes her hair through the seasons and she is not the damsel in distress type anymore i mean she now knows martial arts if u see the directors cut plus i think she may get a special ability of her own if u see the trailer here. Maybe she has the ability of cellular regeneration like claire form heroes... i like the new Lana XD

This hasnt been confirmed yet. But the CW have informed the producers of Smallville to make a series end (for the current series) as well as an actual season end (to end the whole of Smallville)...we wont properly know if there will be a season 9 until at least May sometime before or after the last episode...

I believe that too.I think first Lois & Clark will finally get together and then Clark turns into the Man of Steel at the end.Not a SPOILER.Just a guess
