  • nice prof

  • very clear, and good professor (better then mine;-)

  • I was half expecting a nasty thermite reaction?

  • Most excelent! Funny Guy, that teacher,

  • when we did this in class last year, we carried out the reaction in a metal container (that had a hole at the bottom of it) and we placed a large beaker of water underneath it so that (if all things go well) the lump of iron that is mad, falls through the hole into the water. Of course, this way made it safer for the students to carry out this reaction without getting hurt as the 'hot' iron would cool rapidly due to the water and nobody's fingers would be chard!!! ^_^

  • Sounds like a horror movie.

  • cool

use CuO instead of Fe2O3 and mix with a fine mesh aluminium powder.

Use the ratios 3:1 Cuo:Al it burns like flash powder

  • i wish my chemistry teachers were as interesting and fun as this guy, i might actually pass Chem AS then

  • pretty close to thermite

  • that is thermite n00b

  • @ncw808 no shit r-tard

  • What hapened at 4:05?

  • wow what university is this? i am coming there!

  • Carleton University!

  • that's what she said

  • Yes, a good teacher. Yes, an interesting demo. Bt I've never seen a thermite demo that wasn't knock your socks off impressive.

This might have been "fun" and "easy to understand", but most of anything of import usually takes time, effort, and thought to be able to learn, let alone understand.

Pity most students couldn't give a fuck.

  • he is so good at explaining. loved this video :D

  • Why is he using the Iron (II) Oxide for thermite, and of Iron (III) oxide of rust. I'd think that the classroom has a good supply of oxygen in it.

  • OHHHHHHH, Ok!

  • Your teacher isn't responsible for spoon feeding you into learning.

  • Honestly...

  • Why caant all teachers explain it like this? he make it sound so simpel and he made a great example there. it taught me some.

  • Nice explanation, pitty more teachers don't have your friendly presentation

  • nice and clear..great professor

  • that is a great teacher, reminds me of my chemistry teacher.

  • actually yes...it is thermite

  • You tube! The easy way to do revision!

  • i loved that, it was brilliant and fascinating

  • lol thermite

  • no lol

  • ...uhm yes it is?

  • It is indeed thermite.

  • excellent explanation by that instructor, I actually understood! Nice video

  • high definition video and good content too. is this a college/university lecture?

  • whoa

  • Yes, thermodinamic and kinetic are different things! To describe a reaction, we have to use them together.

  • That was cool, I mean hot.
