  • watch dust junkies he stepped the fuck up

  • tuuuuuuune!

  • I was into Hip Hop at the time, this tune and certain tunes by Rebel MC, Ragga Twins and Shut Up & Dance made me switch to the Rave scene. Over 20 years later im still producing drum & bass and playing at raves with all my heroes. This was never a fad, it was a lifestyle....

  • 1989

  • I must confess that I only watched this all the way through for the skating.............

  • Daaaang this is taking me waaay back. Ain't heard this song in a minute loved it from way back still a banging tune from MC tunes

  • The only thing thats changed in skating is how big the pants are.

  • sweet if your stuck in the late 90's, oh well thats me

  • I used to go to school with him.. he always got sent out of class for beat boxing and oh err.. URRGGHH -ing.. lol

  • MC Tunes bit my ass.

  • good laughs back then!

  • Oooooh, yes please. 808 State, the best Manchester had to offer, although Morrissey is the bollocks. Both legends though.

  • MC Tunes makes Emenem look like a premature hamster. Goin' hard in '99! Feel It!

  • takes me back. such a talent. Need more uk talent. WaspRiot are my fave at the mo they should be massive soon as i saw them live and there were girls takin there clothes off an sh@t, crowd went mental.

  • This is fucking amazing! its like Eminem, mixed with Vanilla Ice on acid.

  • Anyone ever seen MC Tunes and Derren Brown in the same place at the same time??? :o)

  • @madwalrus Nah, this is the 99 remix/reissue :-)

  • @madwalrus '99 not '89

  • @AlanWattParrot Yeah, I know now. At the time I didn't realise there was a '99 version. Sounds exactly like the original to me.

  • "The North at its Heights" was a fuckin mind blowing album, Id love to get hold of it again. This guy was the real deal unlike Vanilla Ice and Eminem. He'd batter both of them, they're totally weak compared to Tunes.

  • so true, and i hate the tossers who call the guy, get a life..

  • Classic!5stars!

  • y slag him off when he was better than all u lot not rapping these he had few hits man

  • cool tune

  • he is not in the nick and he is not goldtop

  • MADCHESTER MADCHESTER!!!

  • Go Tunes!

  • Wasn't this done in 1990 or very early 90s? 1999 doesn't seem right

  • Yeah, this was a re release. I read he's in the nick now...

  • yeah 91 I think

  • Can someone assist with my question below.

Is MC Tunes and MC Goldtop one of the same person?.

  • MC Goldtop and MC Tunes are not the same persons. AFAIK "MC Goldtop" makes now acoustic music under the name "Paul O'Kane"

  • Superb tune from back in the day! 5*

Does anyone remember another track from his album called 'My Own Worst Enemy'? Now that was a tune!

It chronicled a day in the life of a smackhead, from a mugging, to jacking up in some guys bathroom, until an untimely death after bouncing off the bonnet of a car? Now that track was ahead of its time!

  • oh wow! I remember. I don't care because brown is my favorite colour.

  • @anotheroxygenthief yeah "i feel sick / like i ate a pound of raw pork" lol

  • @anotheroxygenthief "Yo what do you think you're doing you dirty little smackhead coming in my gaff tootin' your gear, get out am gunna bust you up".... b-e-a-u-tiful

  • @anotheroxygenthief Yeah, i remember it. Thats how i got to this link, coz i was looking for that track.

  • @anotheroxygenthief YEAH MAN I GOT IT LOL AND I NO TUNES :)

  • I fucking loved this song back in the day, still sounds great now

  • yeah, most of 808 state sounds just as fresh today & better than what i hear the kids playing on their tinny PSPs or cell mp3 players around here!

  • fucking tune! big up tunes! big up 808 state! brap

  • What was the western series that they used the theme tune in this mix?

  • "The Big Country" (1958 movie) - music by Jerome Moross

  • Long time no hear. Tip top track. Cheers

  • I knew a guy at college who was actually mugged by MC Tunes...!

  • you mean 90'

  • I know MC Tunes is like almost 40 years old now but I would bite his rhyme anyday this song is so good. I bet he got even hotter as he got older.

  • lol this is pretty terrible for '99.

i'd expect this kindof quality from 15 years earlier

  • yeah, this must be a re-release from late eighties

  • This is aint from 99, this is from 1990

  • ah, it seems "The Only Rhyme That Bites" was released in 1990. But it was re-released in 1999 as "The Only Rhyme That Bites 99" - it's probably a remix.

  • loved this tune bak in the day....playin it now and goin hey....i luved this tune bak in the day.....lol...still sounds cool....

    nutta xx

  • Loved this song!

  • Tunes had some fucking ill ryhmes and he wasn't plastic like all these new MC's.

If the Uk had OG's Tunes would be one.

Just listen to some of these ryhmes,, vicious!

  • I liked the song they did called 'primary rhyming'. Twas a classic ;)

  • yes lockett

  • 10/10 top tune - gr8t video/sound quailty

  • Good chune but 'Bites' has a different meaning today; he is now effectivly saying to any younger listeners out there that this is 'the only rhyme that sucks' as when something bites then it means really sucks.

  • Dis tune ruled bak in da day. Makes me want ta git all da DJ quip owt agin n spin some tunes. F*****g splendid.

  • Thats my dad =]

    I am astarday lockett!

  • this is before all londoners turned into ali g, Manchester always stays strong.

  • this is fine combination, i love that bassroll

  • On the back of this (which is awesome) and 'Tunes Splits the Atom' I bought the MC Tunes album 'The North At It's Heights', expecting more of the same. It was absolutely dreadful. Proof indeed that without 808 state, this guy wouldn't have got as far as he did.

  • In response to DJMC1981 - the stuff MC Tunes did with the Dust Junkys is absolutely tremendous. Granted, this isn't up to much, but we all start somewhere!!!

  • I will check out the Dust Junky stuff, have heard other people recommend it so it's only fair to give it a chance :D

  • HELL YEAH!!!! :D

  • Someone please upload tunes splits the atom - the video makes that song.

  • am surprised the tunes splits the atom video aint on here

i found tunes splits the atom live on da word but would love the actual video version

  • the bleep at 1:32 is so old skool it rocks!

  • top bananana

  • totally original british rap. doesn't need american skateboarding shit in the video

  • had the privilage of seeing this performed live when the Waterfront in Norwich (UK) opened, what a night -- even the walls were sweating !!!!

  • 1990, then a '99 release, and is still in Tune Splits the Atoms' shadow.

    Great old school though.

  • awsome skate dayz!!!top notch track!

  • shame though coz hearin the lyrics some of them are quite good

  • this sounds like utter shite

  • This isn't the original video, I'm sure the skateboaring/snowboarding wasn't there originally.

  • Most definitely not the original. Had more dancers in it and no boarders at all.

  • Right. But thx god they replaced the dancers with sk8ters. The dancers s** a**

  • Yeah but the dancers were just so right for the time. Can't go messing with history!

  • sux

  • Fucking world of it's own! Get In!!! Fuck off every cunt!¬
