"America the Beutiful" is a nice song. I've travelled cross country 3 times and it is a beutiful country. That's what that song has always meant to me. Not politics, the actual country itself. The rolling hills in Kansas, the plateus in New Mexico, the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I highly reccomend a cross country trip, everyone should do it at least once, I guarantee at some point in the trip you will realize how big and beutiful this country is, even today.

I am a Christian and voted Republican ever since I could vote; i.e., I was a 100% Christian Right. But after seeing Bush in power for 8 yrs and how Fox touts the Conservative ideology, I am just sicken to be associated with them. What's wrong with some self reflection on how we could live up to "America the Beautiful"? I think the Conservatives are too self righteous and no empathy. I am still a Christian, and I am pretty sure Jesus would not treat people the way they do.

I am a born American and The American anthem has annoyed me snits I was in the 9'th grade. mostly for I was Semi forced to stand for it and put my right hand over my hart. though I did stand for America, I did not put my hand over my hart for I did not believe in it to my hart! it was my best to protest for it, unlike like some American how just followed or spoke. Okay on the subject of this Judge Chen, I hadnt commented on it directly before becuase I didnt know that much. So I learned he is an ACLU lawyer who is ultra liberal. So now you want to convict and sentence punishment upon intent and not the crime, or in addition to the crime? This just gets sillier. The punishment should be for the crime. Motive can be used in the trial to establish intent and therefore help draw the conclusion of guilt. But guilt is based upon the act and not the intent. Justice needs to focus upon the cold hard act and not the intent.
