where is the end of this song???? It was not Judy but Judy's KID and that is special in it self. I don't know what is going on with u tube but just like everything else NO YOU CAN"T is that a free country??? Bravo Liza!!!!!!!!!!!! Barb...
I would pay a $100 to have a copy of this song in better audio quality! She almost never touches her mothers work (lorna luft seems to have missed that memo!) but when she does, she tears the roof off! Hauntingly beautiful this one is!
Wow! This is a different Liza performance than I have of this song. I was lucky enough to see her in Seattle the day after Jule Styne died in 1994, and she sang "Just in Time". It was BY FAR the song she put the most power into because it was something new to her concert routine. It was also the first time I heard her sing "What Makes a Man a Man", which was an incredible acting performance. From the 6th row, clearly tears in her eyes singing the "nobody can judge". Best concert I've seen.
This was The Bye Myself tour. I saw this in HOLMDEL NJ. WOW a long time ago. Liza did Oscar and a small tribute to her mom. Trolly song etc. I remember poor Liza was dancing with a broken toe. What memories this brings back!! Thanks for posting.
this was recorded in 1982 at the greek theatre by fan pam wulk.she is the one who says-i wouldnt miss this-at the begining of song.liza was touring with joel gray and the entire the man that got away was part of the i wanna be a showstopper medley.
OMG this is amazing!!!! do you have anymore information about the audio? Exactly when and where did she sing this? is there video footage of her singing this? thank you so much for posting!
@strawberrycurrant This story about her being surprised on a TV show is utter nonsense. I own various recordings of her singing this song, and can assure you 100 PERCENT this is from a complete concert. Besides, if you pay attention to the orchestration, it's too elaborate to be an imprumpto performance she wasn't prepared for. The concert tour she performed this was from the 80s, though I know of occasions were she performed this in the early 90s too. Shame they've cut the ending off...
@aminmontrose yeah i noticed this too, it actually sounds like it was Liza who surprised the audience by singing this song. I do think this is from the early 90s though, i heard a recording of her singing this is the 80s (that was great too). but man I would kill for any video footage of her singing this song, she sings this so great.
I Downloaded this clip a few years ago, off of Youtube... as you see it. I have no Info about it. I agree that there is no way this is "spur of the moment" she's spot on with the Orchestra, it's obviously rehearsed. I prefer her Vocals here to the earlier (80's) recording I've heard, so I've re posted it. By all means if anyone has any info, pass it along :)
