It's a great machine - the first one with a built-in ("potted") motor. You should be able to find a throat plate (to cover the bobbin) pretty easily. Congratulations on a nice find!
you need the 66525 part for your machine, the slide plate. I have a 1928 singer 101 too.

Post the serial number and I can tell you what model it is for sure and date it was made.
