The whole point is that if some idiot attacks a person with Mr. Liu's skills, it most certainly will work because the attacker is, well, attacking! Limp noodles aren't a threat. It's more than just "simple mechanics and good connection," it's an entire system of body skill that allows Mr. Liu to neutralize his opponents' attacks and bring their own force back to them, augmented with his own. It's genuine internal power.
Can someone explain me what the hell is going on in this video? i got linked to it, still i don't get whats so special about those two old men.... seems like another wizard/witchcraft/magic piece of crap
sure I will explain... the student is using too much force. so the tai chi method works on him. If he was more relaxed then the demo would not work and it would be boring. no magic or anyone trying to trick you... it is simple mechanics and body connection... and the student wants everyone to see how good his master is so he fights back which makes the techniques work better and look better.
Nice demonstration of coiling-spiraling from the ground to generate diagonal and lateral power, with a later addition of "peng jing" expanding energy to send his partner up onto his toes.
Nicely refined movements so subtle you can barely detect motion in this legs, waist and spine. A true master of internal methods.
@Aheyne the guy "jumping around" is my teacher, and he can do this stuff too. He can do the same thing to you or me or 95% of the taiji practitioners I have seen. It's just that master Liu's power is unreal. Master Xue is a very high level practitioner himself so Master Liu does not need to hold back. Go to Jinan, feel him yourself.

The guy's jumping is a little bit melodramatic though...
Aheyne 2 years ago
That's not jumping-- that's being projected. True, there's a lotta charlatans claiming 'internal' or 'effortless' abilities; Liu is the Real Thing.
Download, & step frame by frame thru.. that last projection at 3:10 is coming from Liu's ankles, & 'spirals/coils' thru his spine.
& FWIW-- it whiplashes the guy's neck; that wasn't faked.

at least it's not that stupid jumping stuff you see, ,people boinging everywhere...

@liukuihan
Are you in China yourself? I will be moving to Beijing this summer to continue my martial arts, so perhaps I can pay a visit ?

@Aheyne
I think liukuihan's teacher is in Nanjing, which is further from Beijing than Jinan.
