  • This was amazing! I'm not dancer but I know this was glorious. Bravo!

  • Wow, this is gorgeous... I absolutely love the choreography; I must agree I love the non-pointed feet thing going, it lends it a certain natural continuity. And and the storyline is just really sad and delicate; I wish there were more pieces like this around.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • Btw, are you 2 together in real life?

  • This is so beautiful! I've never seen a guy + guy dance before but always wanted to do one... Love the storyline and just how beautiful you 2 dance it! I want to dance with my friend at the Christmas ball at my school but don't think he would go along with it :/ (this just reminded me of that, I'm not just saying it really randomly, lol)

    Gorgeous xx

  • This is Harry and Louis from One Direction's relationship in dance form.

  • It's so simply beautiful

  • Really beautiful choreography! Are you gay!?

  • so sweet! <3

  • this was beautiful o':

  • come on guys.....point your feet. Contemporary does require "line."

  • Damn. That was amazing♥♥♥

  • go chris my cousin!! frm sierra and mya

  • this piece is well danced and choreographed, i can see what you mean about the transitions though. Every now and then either one of the dancers does something and it seems to be there only as a setup for the next movement, it comes from nowhere. it also makes the dancers look like they are thinking "this is when i do this" rather than wanting to do that movement. other than these things, good job!

  • I honestly, fucking love this piece. I mean, let gays be gays. Who the heck cares. Whether or not a ballet dancer, or any type of dancer, is straight or gay is irrelevant. I think male dancers are the most masculine guys out there, even when they are gay.

  • writedance - this was marvellous and why on earth do you think most men in the ballet world are gay? A lot were ONCE but now it's fairly rare. Anyway, what if they are? Everyone still gets a great deal of pleasure from them artistically. You're the moron - if anyone is! (You mentioned the words 'art' & 'moron' in the same breath!)

  • it was beautiful. the emotion was good and i get your comment on the neutral feet i like to keep the feet relaxed in contempory dance. just a question, are you gay? i only ask because i'm a straight girl and i have to do a peice with another girl that's along the same lines as this. i don't know how it will work for me as i can't draw on the feeling as i usually can when dancing with a guy.

  • its this two guys? ha this is really good :P

  • Bravo!

  • OMG I LOVE THIS TO DEATH LOVE LOVE LOVE

  • I love it!!! I've been looking for something like this!! Damn Now I need to find a guy to do a duet with!! :D I want to see it in costume, on stage, and the whole nine yards!!

  • amazing, i love it

  • THIS IS REMARKABLE, not many people would have the guts to choreograph about love in same-sex relationships and feelings. You've moved dance into a new era. this is the new part of dance that we all must learn to accept and respect. I aplaud you!

  • um, excuse me, i may be wrong, but i was raised to believe that calling someone a "fag" is one of the most rude and disrespectful things that you can say to a person. just becuase someone isn't exactly like you, doesn't mean you have to be an 'A' word. anyway. I love this it tells a story. and tells it well. =]

  • nice dance, nice music (what is the name of this piece??)

I also did a duet with my boyfriend. It is on my channel. So great to see that there are more guys daring to show their dance together.

  • why dont they kiss and get it over with, fags

  • Its art you moron. Seriously, why did you bother watching- and in the world of dance, most men are gay so get over yourself.

  • @WTFuRdum that would be sexy, but maybe the choreographer didn't need a kiss to complete the dance

  • still enjoy this video...

  • this is sooo amazing! my Dancepartner and I are doing a variation of this for our next show!! I LIKE IT SO MUCH!!

  • I actually luv it even though i agree more dancing should be involved rather than all the running i luved the lifts that u 2 did n its has alot of emotion in it and it looks natural technique could use a little more work but other than that luved it

  • i agree the natural look can work, as long as it is not the majority of the foot work. When it is done too much it looks a bit sloppy and you begin to hear some really unpleasant sounds (2:08). it can also lead to Achilles tendon injuries if done too violently. programing toe-ball-heel into your dancing will allow you do jump higher and prevent these injuries. unfortunately, i thought there was too much music for the choreography and too much drama, especially in all the running around

  • what the hell is wrong with you ?

    how dare you.

  • Not to be a naysayer, because apparently everyone else loved it, but, I am sorry, it was way to sloppy..... I get what you were trying to do, but I think you were trying a little too hard. There wasn't enough ACTUAL dancing. It was a lot of running, hugging, and running away. I applaud the effort, though

  • @ugtat6689 I get what you're saying. I wish there would be more "dancing", but otherwise it I liked it. =]

  • oh man,

watching beautiful little dances like this in the morning makes me smile :)

this is lovely, it's incredibly original. well done.

  • LOVE IT ;D

  • this is sooo amazing! my friend and I are doing a variation of this for our ballet final! this is outta sight!

  • i wanted them to end up together.

  • loving this! great interaction between the guys.....it's brilliant that dances like this exist! :D

  • Wow, great job guys! :)

  • beautiful choreography! loved the intensity and the story line was understood. i just would like on some of the lifts to have more femininity. but it was great guys. good job

  • This is a brave and haunting piece, thank you so much for sharing it. The emotion is as lovely as the choreography. It was sublimely danced. Bravo!!!

  • that was beautiful. it told a story and it was just amazing. im speechless.

  • wow. I'm speechless. <3 that was incredible

  • wow that was beautiful, and your very talented =]

  • im in tears right now... wow! Love IT!!!!

  • Honestly? At first I was kinda... puzzled, but after a minute I went like: God, they're amazing!

    Keep working, guys ;)

  • i dont get it whats the story trying to tell on this peice?

  • perfect. I wouildnt have changed any thing about it :)

  • ummmmmm

  • i always find myself coming back to this piece

  • Well, thank you! :)

  • this piece is excellent. it was raw and full of strength and emotion. i loved it :)

  • its probably one of the most beautiful dances i have ever seen... and as far as gay there is nothing wrong with that Bob Fosse's "Take Off With Us" Had guys dancing together as well as females dancing together and it was just as beautiful

  • well, it seems that u enjoyed it otherwise u wouldnt have seen it

    btw beautiful dance!

  • Inspired by your dance: Quiet transition Defining moment Rapture in our eyes Desires path that leads Our footsteps it calls And lost a guiding hand The pull and push Run and stop I follow you fall You want I refuse Molding against Your intrinsic form To join in ecstasy Only to experience A separation of pain
  • The male form has always held me intrigued. Straight lines filled with masculinity flowing with soft grace, hard movements tamed with a gentleness that a female form cannot seem to achieve. It is always wonderful to watch the male form in dance. It brings a different intensity, a different interpretation which strains to convey the beauty of the story.

  • I thought and think this is just beautiful. I really feel this capitivated the bond between two men, like what I share with my partner. The masculine interaction with the delicate feelings of love at the same time.

  • I liked it. good emotional connection. I'm a male dancer and I really like the way you explored male relationships. way to friggin go!!!

  • Very good duet!

  • um....this is nice choreo....dnt think i would hav selected those dancers

  • that was very beautiful, no matter what the unintelligent people have to say about it.

  • eeerrrrrrrrr what could i say. as boys you should use more energy and be more stronger in aaaallll those moves u know. any girl could do that and i think many of them could jump a lot higher. wellll that was pretty nice but err um i dunno . keep workin' on ! the choreography was awesome anyway.

  • I am pretty sure the whole point is to have two MALE dancers. If they changed it, this choreography would be average and boring...looks like they made you kind of nervous...and as a male dancer and choreographer, nervous just means they evoked some kind of thought out of you, which is in essence the point of art.

And sure, men are generally seen as being the powerhouses of dance, however it takes more finesse, energy and agility to be delicate. Great work boys, Company level work! :)

  • Wha'ts the ending? why did they break up? don't really understand the storyline. Can someone explain this to me pls?

  • Well the storyline, simply put, is 2 males wanting to be together. 1 male wants to fully commit to be with the other, while the other male wants to be with the above said male, but is so consumed by what society says about them that he can't be with him. There are times where he wants nothing else to be with the other, but then becomes quite paranoid. The ending is just the breaking of the 2, because there is an unequal balance of desire and being content.... in a sorta confusing statement haha

  • Thanks sptlightonme for explaining the storyline, I was thinking the same. I am thinking of performing this in my church's talent night, but it sounds so daring. lol,,, thanks man!

  • wow, amazing. I always thought of duet with a girl, but ur work is so outstanding, it really touched and moved me a lot further. But it's difficult to look for a male dance partner who agreed to perform the duet like this. Love ur work!

  • did i just see two guys kiss?!? woaah

  • Unintelligent.

  • love it.

    love you.

    your amazing!

  • that was soooooo beautiful it brought me to tears!:)stunning

  • what's the music?

  • "Cipolla" by Danny Wright!

  • i love it:) my dance studio soooo needs guys:)

  • nice work.. watch your feet... but i like the thought process behind this...

  • Im robbing ideas for my duet ;)

    I loved it!!

Keep at it and it will be AMAAAAZINNNG!

  • I cried when I saw this. I love the story you both told. And I love the choreography. I agree with mavjade. Keep your feet pointed. Both of you. But, regardless, beautiful piece of work. I'm a dancer also. And not even I could express that kind of emotion that you two put into it. I saw nothing that resembled vulgarity. All I saw was unconditional love. And that means, you both did your job amazingly. Keep dancing. At this rate, you will be even more briliant and amazing. Awesome job.

  • First off, a great piece of choreography! I really enjoyed the story you told!

I agree that a few of the transitions could be a little smoother, but hey sometimes you have to see it first to see that!

The dancing was pretty good, I was impressed, but a little concrit if you don't mind... don't forget to point your feet(both of you)! Unless they aren't suposed to be, then make it obvious and it was in some places it was, but some places not.

Great job! Keep dancing and choreographing!

  • wow , that's just amazing 0.0

  • ♥♥♥♥♥Love it ♥♥♥♥♥

  • could u tell me the name of your music please?? love it. love the dancing too!

  • Thanks!!

    "Cipolla" by Danny Wright.

  • Beautiful story. The technique wasn't the best I have ever seen, but the idea is wonderful and carried out very well. I see nothing that resembles "gay porn." To be honest, most duets with a male and female are WAY more vulgar.

Thanks for keeping it classy and not trashy!

    Keep dancing~

  • amazing.

  • Wow....that was good. You should see me...I was staring wide eyed at the screen the whole time.

  • this is just beautiful.

well done guys! can only hope one day i can dance as good as you!

  • good job:)

  • oh hai, joe. post "a few concerns"!

  • I refuse to use that video - I need a better recording! haha...

  • I think you should just get over it and do what I say, dammit!

  • so this was about 2 gay lovers right??

...by the way i am basing this on ur movements and the song title.

    ...interesting!!

  • cazcucumber what on earth are you talking about "gay porn" the piece was AMAZING and the fact that you are disgusted by it shows just how important it was that this dance was made i am a gay male and a male dancer and i am completely offended by your comment and to the people who danced this i hope to see so much more of you because that was once again amazing

  • beautiful story

    i liked the emotion

  • This is absolutely stunning- great job! :)

  • Very well done!

  • there is not a word to describe it =)<3

  • this is georgous not gay but art

  • & andd i again will confirm, i said i think it would be better, ! not i wanted.

i am young 15 to be precised, and im in the modern world, i just think if its introduced to dancing, what else will it be introduced to, ??

one thing i will agree with you on, is that yes i do find it weird and a bit disturning to see this.

thankyou, for responding and respecting my opinion. which i can gladly say to you, and only you.

  • However, im just thinkingg about the future when this will get bigger-

will it be like the next "dirty dancing" ? come andd see the new family movie, containing some uncomfortable movements

i completely understand what you are saying withh what it is supposed to mean andd as of the stimulus of the dance its great.

& CJehnert1210 - "people like you" - because i may not be happy with the dance im made to look like i hate all gayes.

thankyou for your reply's they are all interesting. x

  • I didn't say you hated gays. What I said was that you mentioned that you wanted a male female duet and that you were disgusted with the fact that we made male male dancing seem acceptable. So I'd assume that you meant you found it unacceptable, and I disagree with that statement, I never said you hated gays, but I do think you dont find males dancing together acceptable and I disagree. So everyone reading see my point please.

  • sptlightonme-

Firstly, thats no problem. i found it really interesting.

andd ermm, excuse me you say its ok to have an opinion and now you sayy, i dont care how long you have been dancing. ! alright mate. !

did i say im living in the 1900's ? i sed i think- yeahh i think. me personally,- my opinion. ! derrrr.... ? like im entitled too, rememberr ?

yeahh okk maybe it wasnt the right term of language, which i admit im sorry for that.

    ......

  • - You're entitled to your opinion but lets talk about something!

First, Thank you for the compliments!

With that said, it doesnt matter how long you have been dancing. Its not about the length of time you have been dancing, but what you do with it - second there are dances like this everywhere.. It's 2008 stop living likes its 1953.

Also, Gay porn would involve clothes off, this is a classy dance; not vulgar at all.

Go educate yourself on dance, you'll find "Gay porn."

    Dont be so conservative

  • I'd like to first agree with the original response to this, and add that the point of the dance is a same sex relationship. I notice how you wanted a male female love or just same sex friendship, but the whole point of this dance is to show that it is acceptable to be a same sex couple, and too show that people like you who are "disgusted" with it make life a lot harder on that.

The point of the whole dance is that it is male and male. And the porn thing is ridiculous

  • Also, so you know!

The point of the dance is slightly because of people like you.

The one male wants to be in love, but refuses to confide in the other male, because of society's stupid view on how it's wrong! He would risk losing a love, because he is paranoid of other people.

So thank you for proving my point of society in this piece! :)

  • Joe and Chris this is beautiful. i loved it!!!!

  • my friend found this video for me because i wanted to see a contemporary piece that was a love story between two men.

    thank you, i enjoyed it.

  • I think the lift were beautiful

and the emotions were really well presented.

Whats this piece of music called?

  • Thanks.

    "Cipolla" by Danny Wright

  • nice shapes!

    very inspiring.

  • umm they need to point their feet more on parts that needed to be pointed. also in my opinion. some of the moves were too literal. i mean they can express anger and how they feel without being too literal cuz at some points i forgot i wus watching dance. p.s i'm on my friend's youtube acount so if you don't like my opinion don't take it out on him. although i do like the concept. i just thought they should've expressed more dancing wise. but that's just my opinion i aint hatin ~_^

  • i like how you forget your watching a dance

i think that was the point

but i do agree learn to point your feet

  • i really liked this, the emotions were so clear and the movement material really showed it!

    great job! :)

  • amazing, i could feel the desire and the pain that it can come with , the partnering was also amazing.

  • very powerful piece. i had two favorite moments. one was at 1:32 when you go away from him but then run back to him. the second part that i loved was at the end when you elbow chris away and neither one of you can show your face. i expect great things from the both of you.

  • very powerful piece. i had two favorite moments. one was at 1:32 when you go away from him but then run back to him. the second part that i loved was at the end when you elbow chris away and neither one of you can show your face. i expect great things from the both of you.

  • OMG!! its as if i should have been looking.. it was great i loved it.. looked so real

  • I really loved this, I thought it was very beautiful, and well choreographed. Keep up the excellent work, you will go far.

    :)

  • aw! Joe I love you!!! and miss your dancing!

  • i take my hat off to you guys, contemporary dancing is pretty kick ass

  • Wow this is amazing! I love the way you sometimes do it in PERFECT unison. Well done you should be proud to be able to dance like this! The choreography is great too.

  • Are you really that unable to use the brain to its full potential? Let's look beyond the surface shall we?

  • This gives me chills.

  • VERY NICE!!! I understand the concept and you guys had good transitions and nice use of space but you guys didnt use the music to its full advatage....It reminded me of a ballet dropped in the middle of a musical play, not a danc performance peice....BUT, it was great

  • great dance, the transitions are so pretty. What is the song the dance is set to?

  • "Cipolla" by Danny Wright.

  • A-ma-zing. beautiful. it reminds me of Daniil Simkins work; so flowing and natural, it tells a beautiful story. i love it. well done! did you ever perform this?

  • Thanks.

    Only for my class.

  • umm ya need to point yas toes and work on the leaps.

    =)

  • There are no leaps.

  • oh!it looked like ya were trying to leap.my bad!

    =)
