idk, I always sang so I never really had a problem keeping tune but i picked up the guitar about 5 years ago and when I started to play trickier rhythms, I literally had to figure out a way of splitting my thought. So when I strum a particularly hard rhythm, I think of it in terms of dancing. Like each strum is a dance move lol. The more you do it, the easier it gets and I find that practicing it FULL OUT is much more effective than humming to yourself. Keep going, you'll get it! ; )

Well, unfortunately the switching you get from just doing it over and over and over again- because it's muscle memory. My tricky chord was F. I still kind of suck at switching to F actually lol. But yeah, whenever you are bored or simply just not doing anything, pick up your guitar and practicing going from different chords to the C position. You'll get it ; )
