The main diamond sparkley riff for this song at 1:16 was taking from Gil Scott Heron song - We almost lost Detroit. Really great way they blended it all together to sound like a classy midnight ride in the countryside.
I first heard this track through Pandora. It was with my Sidewinder(Plain Song) playlist. I listen to this while I draw, clean, drive or study. Anyone else enjoy this naturally without the use of substances?
in my glory days i used to turn a whole room into blue violet ice on this music, i even froze people :)) badass music for trippin, turns your fuckin head inside out
god i love this dude. none of my friends like this. im like how the hell could you not?!?!? right at 1:16 my jaw just drops. absolutely the best part of the song. simply amazing. i can go on and on about how great this song is.
@TheDailySkate Dude, I agree whole-heartedly with everything you said. The minute or so leading up to that part is like, meh, not bad, but as soon as it kicks in, it just launches shit to a whole new level.
Arguably their best piece of music ever...hypnotic groove...melancholy echoed-electric piano Maj7/Min-maj7 phrase, spooky undercurrent 2 note motif, laid-back horn section & bongos, hi-hat driven interlude reminiscent of Floyd's "On the run",resignated resolution.....trippy, acidy, so '70s...Brilliant
Yeah, I did go to music school, studied some Harmony, ear-training, jazz improv, played in cover bands in TGY Fridays type bars, did the occasional Sunday brunch guitar-duo or quintet Cool-Jazz gigs @ bookstores, w/ some buddies of mine in Washington DC, back in the late '90s, but these days Music is just a (most cherished) hobby...Premieres Symptomes is in my opinion, AIR's best album. Peace, Brother...
@4wheels8bearings the ghost of Tom Penny will forever haunt the stinking slippery warehouse in northampton with echos a perfectly caught flip from heaven and the roaring cheer of a thousand people! And the smile of Chris Inces shinny red face
Been my favorite genre of music since highschool. Found them out through any way possible. Pandora could help pple these days. Plug in j'ai dormi sous l'eau into a pandora channel, and be prepared to experience the best next few years of your life. =)
