This was so fun to watch. You inspired me. At first I didn't think it was going turn out very well. My mouth dropped when I saw the finished product. I must try to do this.
Hi, really enjoyed this video, kinda inspired me to get creative and fashionable again lol. Spring is here and I really want to look good!! I will try this with one of my lovely heels and see how I do :-)
I can't wait to try this. I saw a pair of glitter shoes in the mall but they were too expensive for something I probably won't wear a lot but would still like to have for special occasions. I have a pair of heels that I rarely wear so... they are about to get their glitter coating and hopefully look like the mall shoes. Great idea and video. Thanks Eleesa.
I saw a pair of glittery flats that I wanted to wear for my wedding but they didn't have my size. I never thought to just make my own! This is such a great tutorial, now I can have my glittery wedding shoes!
I've always loved sparkly shoes but I never thought to do it myself! I just got a pair of silver pumps from asos.com, I think I will make them spakrly silver this weekend! Great tip!!
@wereallmadhere9 Well, I tried it, and it totally worked! I got a pair of plain black pumps at Payless, got the MS glitter (very nice), and glued it all over...and viola! I now have glitter pumps. I only had a matte fixative, so it dulled the glitter slightly, I would use a gloss next time. But now I know that glitter is staying on, and I have a new pair of shoes!
Hair spray remains somewhat tacky, so if you use just hairspray the tackeyness will attract dirt and dust n' stuff, making a mess. Use clear spray paint instead- it will actually cure so nothing will stick.
i have a pair of suede ballet flats that have some water damage to them and just look too bad to wear as they are. i really dont want to throw them away because they're so comfy. do you think this would work on suede?
@v1rgi3 well with me when i really like my leather pumps i take really good care of them... and they did look worn out if u look at the front of the shoe were it bends u can really tell.... but then again thats just me....
the glue is going to rub off. ive tried this and it looks good for the first night but once the leather moves the glue peels off. DONT RUIN YOUR SHOES WITH THIS!
I am doing this! I wanted to buy this pair of nude glitter heels at a store in my mall but they were $119.99. They weren't brand name or anything! I'm better off buying some cheaper more comfortable ones and just dong them myself!!
@10jaynim Really? Listen either you must be 4 or you don't have much character. FIRST OFF if you don't like the platform flip flops (or anything at that) don't mention it to tons of people. Second if you havent tried it...it does stay. I made glitter flip flops in 5th grade. Now I'm in a few grades higher and the glitter is still there -.-"
This is sooo cute. I absolutely adore glitter so i definitely want to try this. But, as MiZzThANGz21 said, does it leave behind a trail of glitter, Elessa? Or, is the glue/hair spray strong enough to adhere the glitter to the shoe? Pls reply>,<
I've had glitter shoes from the STORE that have shed glitter. Regardless of whether or not you do it yourself or buy it already glittery, the shoe may shed anyway!
how hot would it be to take a plain black pump and do the sole of it in red glitter like a fake cl? haha, now i'm so tempted to do that with all of my shoes...
will the glue and hairspray wash off with water? what about using art setting spray ?(the ones used to set charcoal, paint etc. so they don't smudge/fade)
Noooo! You can't put rhinestones on Christian Louboutins! And you call yourself a fashionista. Jk lol. But I really did gasp when I saw you holding your pair of CL's. Haha.
@llcuz LOL If you buy CL's with stones its about $3200+ so if I put them on $750 CLs then it will cost me a few hundred instead :) but too many hours LOL
the glue should be strong enough so that the glitter doesnt fall off with water. i had a little glitter design on my hoodie that i always washed, and it always came out fine :) and it endured the washer, so im sure rain wont do anything bad
I definitely recommend only rhinestoning the heel part of your CL's! Covering the whole thing up would definitely overpower the amazing shoe it is already! Plus if you only do the heel, it'll attract more attention to people noticing the sexy red soles. ;)
This is such a great idea. I have a pair of really nice leather shoes that got scuffed, and this would be a great way to repurpose them. I'm going to try it.
