  • mine is pretty much the same as this i tihnk xcept reflections/ light sources dont look tht good on my gun.

do i just neeed a better video card?

  • Well , it could just be how your looking at your gun... or the video settings you have... Try to set everything to the highest possible, and then take a look... I know for a fact that the original weapon textures aren't very high res even on the highest settings so dont worry if your gun doesnt look perfect and super shiny

  • yeahh i do have everything on the highest, its high on everything xcept for textures is very high.

but yeh i have this for xbox and just that shiny-ness doesnt show up as good on my pc

  • Since the Xbox 360 game's are praised more and such and modified so much for the xbox itself, sometimes it'll look better on there

  • iight i see. but like if i get a better video card will i be able to turn all the options up to high?

    thx for your help.

  • Can i run 1280x1024 all high with this?

    8800 GT.

    2.97 Ghz.

    1,5 GB ram.

  • If You Have A Duo Or A Quad Than Yes

  • Ok, thanks!

  • My res is gonna be 1680x1050. With a 9600GT and Q6600 can I still sustain 60fps?

  • at the least it will be 60 fps, dont worry your computer will be able to handle just about anything but crysis

  • Just did the upgrade with a Q6700 instead of Q6600 and I can tell you it does run as smooth as silk. It only starts getting into the 20fps range when tons of people are on screen at the same time in the highest possible settings without Anti-Aliasing.

  • nice!

  • What are your in-game settings?

  • Everything is to the highest, even Anti-Aliasing and AniStropic Filtering (not sure what either do, but..) only thing I have OFF is Vertical Sync.. Gives me mouse lag (Still good FPS though... Weird?)

Resolution is 1280*1024, more than enough for me. Gives me 80-100+ on average which is better than excellent.

If your going on a Higher Resolution may take a few frames (not much at all), widescreen takes up resources but you should be just fine.

  • Sweet, I am getting an 8800GT and I will game at that resolution as well, thanks :]

  • No problem!

    DONT FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE!

  • BTW, if you turn of anti-aliasing, you'll notice the lines aren't as smooth. I dunno what ansiStropic does though.

So should I just get your card, or is it better if I got a 9800GTX or even a GX2?

  • Before jumping right into one of those, check out benchmark tests and such, do some research on each one, if price is an object for you of course.

  • I've decided I shouldn't jump to those yet, and instead, get something like a 9600GT for SLI in the future - its a budget PC :)

  • Well i have everything maxed out even aa and antistropic thing and i only have a dual core 6750(or something) and a 8500... this game doesn't really need good stuff :) and THAT'S Awsome!!!

  • I'm gonna be getting COD4 too, you know :)

But TF2 is gonna be the main source of my fix.

  • 750i ftw = 780i without 3way sli

  • cool is the 750io good or shuold i get the 680i

  • To be honest I wouldn't know, try comparing the specifications on both motherboards, most likely the 750i will be a better board.
